Sunra name is a stolen name ... did you check internet for sunra? This name does not seem to be registered and not copy righted in pakistan. This Name is brand name of Chinese motorcycle company. Can you kindly tell something about this please?

Aslam o alaikum all !

I visited them today for a test ride and had called them yesterday and confirmed whether I can have the test ride. However, the manager said that they don't have any bikes for test rides and asked me to come at later time. Still, I inquired about the bike and they are asking Rs. 1,28,000/-. No guarantee for anything except for battery which is 6 months and costs Rs. 28,000/- as per their representative and he said that the battery will be required to get replaced every 3 years. The fuel tank is installed as a dummy, where in my opinion there should have been a box or small compartment with a locker for keeping personal articles. It has no gears no clutch and both the front and back brakes are on the handle and you have to change your riding style before riding this vehicle on daily basis. In my opinion this bike being totally electric should had electric speedometer installed instead of analog meters. The manager was very lethargic and lazy in replying the questions asked. However, buying this bike will be a risk and the price is too much high. Risk is in a sense that you don't know whether this bike will keep up with you on long term basis. Also, the value for money is very low. The speed is also only till 65 kmph which is also not very much. On the other hand the electric bikes in other countries give very high speed as per the normal bikes. I would personally give this give a score of 7/10 due to the uncertainty attached with it regarding its long term use and lack of some options like electric speedometer, useless dummy fuel tank, no rear disk brake and place of rear brake on the handle and too much price accompanying with very low value for money. The shape of the bike is also not original but a ditto copy of Suzuki GS 150.

Lead acid and lithium ion isn't ready for the mainstream yet. No wonder these electric bikes make no financial sense whatsoever.

Best to wait for lithium air technology or something along similar lines, which will take years, if not decades to hit the mainstream. Till then, burn gasoline and enjoy the mechanical, almost magical 'clockwork' of an internal combustion engine!

It's truly a marvel, IF you've the eyes to see it, that is. Roald Dahl has put it beautifully:

Yes the internal combustion engine is a marvel. That is why it survived a 100years. But the technology has changed much in this time and it's days are numbered.

Well, I was speaking from a philosphical perspective, my friend, not technological! Some people, including yours truly, still prefer the mechanical clockwork of automatic watches even though Quartz moment is dirt cheap and is better than analogue clockwork in every imaginable aspect. Same goes to typewriters and fountain pens vs. computers and ballpoint pens respectively, if you catch my drift.

I'm afraid days of combustion engine are numbered. I mean, logically speaking, electric vehicles are better in every single way but there is something about the roar of a throaty combustion engine that makes it so special.
