There are always two parties in any given arguement. The proponent and opponent of any discussion. Its all good to have the balanced viewpoints from both sides supported by fact and not just hogwash didly squat wishy washy blabbering. Its true that valid criticism is needed to improve upon anything.
In the case of our Pakistan's first ever locally designed car, the critics or opponents have a heavier burden of proof to settle. Since, the car has not been in the market, declaring it a failure is not a judgement call from one in this forum, specially with no fact behind them. There is no precedent to support such argument.
Let me tell you one clear proof in the favor of Revo.
The car is 70% Pakistani. What does that means. An automobile consists of approximately 10,000 Part and 70% of the part used in this car are of Pak. origin. The same quantity as another car of its class, Mehran. It therefor can be concluded that Revo shares 70% of the part from the SAME vendor industry Base that makes other cars in Pakistan, i.e. Mehran. So, in that category(local parts) it is equal.
So, the only thing that distinguishes the two cars are the Powertrain(Engine + transmission) which is imported for both. Suzuki which does not enjoy much international market anywhere except in Pakistan and India makes Mehraan's and its not a very reliable company. Its cars have failed in US. They do not have any significant share in US, Hyundai of Korea makes better cars and is more popular in US then Suzuki of Japan.
Revo on the other hand, shares Wuling Engine from China, which is the Largest Engine manufacturer of China. Plus GM of US also sources its engines for its products in China From Wuling.
GM, is the largest Car maker in the World. So, if GM has trust in Wuling, then it removes any doubt in anyone's mind about Wuling's quality.
Design is another Positive in favor of Revo. Revo actually looks like a car from 2005. While Mehran, its chief contender is 1986 model, having lived its up to date model life (upto 4 years) in the whole world. It was modern only uptil 1990, when the 1990 Alto with 600cc engine replaced it. That 1990 Alto also came in Pakistan under Yellow Cab scheme, if anyone remembers that hideous shape.
I only use facts to prove my arguements. If anyone of you want to disprove me, USE only facts with valid market data. Otherwise you have lost the arguement in proving Revo as an inferior car.
Good luck finding any data against Revo or Wuling... There is not any!!!
