Surf 1kZ vs V6 Petrol

Hello, I am planning to buy my first Jeep, but I don’t have any prior experience with 4-wheel drives.

Since this will be the only vehicle for my family, fuel consumption is an important factor for me. I am considering a diesel option because of its fuel efficiency, but I’m not sure if owning a diesel vehicle would be practical while living in Sialkot.

My main purpose is off-roading, but as a middle-class family, fuel costs are still a concern. My budget is around 33 lac, which I can stretch to 35 lac if needed.

Could you please guide me on which option would be the best fit for me, and why?

You should be more concerned for the repairs it would be needing at this age of vehicle. Best option is obviously diesel one however finding that's clean or making engine performance upto mark will be hard especially if you live somewhere remote.

a petrol v6 engine 6-7
you are not saving much on that....1kz was never known for fuel consumption

these are very old engines and vehicles needing constant repairs.besides fuel cost. do keep in mind how much monthly you can sacrifice for repairs along with fuel

Petrol V6 would be better unless you have access to a turbo diesel SUV specialist mechanic.
Fuel costs will not be significantly different.

A 30 year old SUV being used for off-roading is not a practical choice for the "only" family vehicle.

how big is your family? if not that big, get a new gen jimny 660cc turbo. Prices start frm 3.5million for 2,3 years old imports and around 4, 4.2mil for fresh imports. Will take you almost everywhere, newer so less probability of things going wrong, gives 13+kmpl within city with ac.

I do agree with Jimny option but I usually live in remote nothern area's. The Jimny is very compact car. I have space issues with Jimny Sir.

In Lahore through Pakwheels, I have some contacts which actually works with Jeeps and Diesel Cars. But I was thinking about long offroad tours (2-3 weeks). I don't know much about jeeps and engines So that's why I was confused

It's your money... but if you can make few compromises take the Jimny route, add a roof rack for your bags etc, it is as capable as any of the large trucks your are looking at with less probability of things going wrong, cheaper maintenance and fuel cost!

you should replace the audi q7's water pump gasket once in a while, combined with the 3rz gasket - really completes the system.
