Suspension Axle (gauday) specialist Sultan da Khoo

Hello champs,

My 2017 Mehran got suspension axle (gauday) tuk-tuk noises on straight and turning. Plus steering is very hard.

I took it to Suzuki Islamabad I-9 who gave me around 20-30k estimate based on when it is disassemebled. However, they will send it a VENDOR to repair and do it NOT themselves. They don't have geniune parts also and will use Japenese parts (they didnt say OEM)

Please recommend a Suspension specialist who uses geniune/good quality parts/greece/laith etc. My nearest port is Sultan da Khoo or Murree road everyday I pass it. I am happy to purchase parts myself if you recommend.

All I need is a peace of mind for next 5 years.

Also what about greece or clamps or such things?

galwamandi area is known for suspension and goday work
buy brand new from suzuki kiani autos
install from any mechanic there or go to diamond workshop.
kit should have clamps and all.if axle grease not included, can easilly buy it from there.

Q: will they adjust the worn-out parts? Should I bring them back etc?
These are original parts from Suzuki. First time axle work.

Update: Went to market today (including Kiani). He only had Chinese Kits not complete axles. I now have 3 routes.

A: get kits and put them on the same rod. Per kit is around 3100-3500. Overall estimate: 15000
B: get kabli Axles ready-made: estimate: 8000 (+ removed axles)
C: get chinese Axles (only available at Waseem Autos Saddar @ 9500 each): estimate: 21000
D: get them repaired from Suzuki (who'll get them repaired from market): estimate 25000

I am inclined towards C as it stands. Will complete the job on this weekend hopefully.

Finally. went to diamonds in Gwalmandi today.
Mehmood and Bilal took the axles out, inspected, found out slight deterioration so repaired two (out of 4) and greased and booted them.
Parts: 1100 (2 boots)
Labor: 3500
Response, very good so far (although first day).

I had also repair my left side axle of 2018 Mehran, but they didnt last a single drive of 30kms. Yahan in Karachi, I am getting kabuli stuff (with 6 groves inside) while new chinky stuff comes up with 3 grooves costing 6500/pair.

The best bet is to buy a set of good factory original axles and regrease and reboot them properly.

Dont allow the shop to use general purpose grease in it get the right type and quality and make sure to use the right amount too.

If mechanic doesnt have that grease, buy it separately, weigh it out in small plastic bags so it can be perfectly filled. (It matters a lot)

6 months update
- The same axles that I got repaired are making noise again
- took them back to Diamond engineering and they said, Inn ki itni hi life hai
- they recommend that I get them repaired again.
- I got so angry that you guys took 3500 rs and cant even get 6 months of peace.
- I left the place and not going back.

Non-professional. Not recommended.
New plan: Get Sherry Chinese Axles and get them replaced once the noise gets unbearable.

CV joints can never be repaired once they start clicking and giving vibration. I don't know what these workshops mean by "repair kara lou". Usually, they just fit slightly oversize rollers when repairing the inner joint and slightly larger metal balls in the outer cv joint to temporarily fill the gap that is created due to wear and tear. This involves grinding the ball cage, cross driver and housing to fit the oversized stuff from another larger joint. I've seen "ustaads" do this with my own eyes in shops here in Islamabad. They do all this by eye and feel without any precision equipment. No fancy CNC machines involved
I'm surprised these repaired joints lasted a couple months. They usually fail in days and become noisy with a lot of vibration when accelerating.
Your new Plan is the best. Get New Sherry Chinese joints. One thing to note is that these joints are of average quality and won't last as long as the original ones but they are a million times better than repaired joints.

This is why I always recommend to keep an eye on the cv joint boots and make sure they are intact, you can install new grease and boots to keep the original factory joints in good shape for a long time.

Much cheaper than any other joint in the long run.
