I know one thing about the control arm bushings- if those control arm bushings are worn, sometimes its cheaper to replace the entire control arm than the bushings alone.
When the bushings are worn, they make a creaking sound when you turn in the opposite direction of the worn bushing (Left bushing worn, creaking sound happens when car turns right)- sometimes it makes the sound even when the car is driving in a straight line. Usually, you can take the sound away by just greasing that bushing. Mine was actually torn, and I greased it up. It hasn't made a sound since July.
