Using Alto AGS since 2019.

Few good points AGS transmission

• Good fuel economy
• Can climb steep hills easily unlike CVT

The bad

• Jerks when shifting gears. This can be reduced by adjusting your driving technique.
• Premature wear of clutch is faced by many owners, but I haven't faced this issue so far. Again to due to driving technique. Clutch wears out quickly, specially in auto mode in traffic jams. Most of the time, auto mode tries to pick the car in 2nd gear without fully releasing clutch. If you drive it in manual mode, you can avoid this by down shifting

Correct. This issue is frequently faced on speed breakers as well. It keeps reving the engine in 2nd gear without shifting it to first.
I now mostly drive in manual mode just to avoid this premature clutch and pressure plate issue

Dealership has changed my pressure plate under warranty saying that it had become hard. Quite astonishing since it was only 5500km driven. Now clutch is operating like butter and gear shifting had gone very smooth. Surprisingly, engine noise has drastically reduced. I pushed car speed upto 110km while traveling and its noise was much less than before.

Whats the cost of clutch and pressure plate normally in AGS? Any other disadvantage or anticipated cost in AGS in long run?

It should be the same as in manual transmission, it's just that due to people flooring it like AT wear it out and the AGS actuator very fast.

It was closed on last Friday, 27th may..expect increase in thr range of 80-100k + any tax addition from fd budget...

Brothers, my battery was stolen last night.
Apparently they took off my number plate and opened the front hatch.

It was the battery that came with the car.
What batteries do I go for and any security for getting that front grill issue solved? I dont mind damaging the bumper to prevent another theft like this.

So sorry to hear this brother. As far as the new battery goes i recommend the daewoo dry battery. i have had it in two of my cars and its great. No acid spills no corrosion and no need to maintain. it last as long as the normal batteries and is only slightly expensive.
Can you please let us all know what is the problem with Alto's front bonet? How can it be opened with just a number plate?

Yes, the battery prices has been trippled recently, which makes battery an easy and desireable target for people with bad intentions, how abt terminals?

Hi,
According to the folks in the street, they mentioned that other altos were also affected in recent years/months.
They use a wire/tool to go through the hole in the front number plate and then unlock it from there.

This was shocking considering how common knowledge this is on the street, let alone among professional thieves.

I guess the only way is to somehow fill the large holes in the front grill or install a bar underneath the bonnet lock.

As for the battery that came with the car, I never checked the brand/make.
Any idea what batteries suzuki put in theirs?

Everything else is fine, thank god. They didn't do any other hanky panky except for unscrewing the battery latch.

AGS comes in Suzuki cars - have same in my WagonR and Alto both 2021 models.

i have been subjected to battery theft twice - once in 2004 Alto vxr and once in Baleno 2004. the best way to protect battery is making a lock/iron bar which prevents battery theft - welding walay make such frames - its a clean task and doesnt mess with anything. as in karachi its so common - aap mart bhi jaen ge tou battery gayab

its really sad, i remember someone in Lahore also had battery protection cage installed.

considering the battery prices, menace is bound to appear in Lahore and other cities as well.

things are getting crazier with S-Speed while we are pacing with 660CC speed

The frame seems like a better idea.
I'll also get a pedal lock just in case.
