do you have 2015 model? were those bearing sealed? mechanics around tell me that sealed hub bearings can't be changed reliably. available japanese bearings cost minimum 2300 here in punjab. btw, are those bearing just working fine? please share your valuable experience.

This was my wife's car which is sold 3 days ago.
Till then, it was working fine. Bearings were OK, at least during installation, he showed me the noise difference between old & new one.

I think It was not Japanese but apparently packing and quality was fine

Alto 2014 model, 2017 registration: manual:
I have 3 questions.
1: I have replaced old engine with genuine shershah it works fine. But need advise if i have to keep check on something.

2- i need to replace back lights with new where can i buy those in Karachi.

3- i have damaged front bumper, from i get it repair and painted...the best denter?

Question # 1: Just keep oil and coolant level check and OK.
Endorse it in car documents from civic centre

Question 2 & 3: For both, Contact Shahzad Denter Painter 0300-2530908 located at Sagheer Centre, he fixed my broken scattered pieces of bumper, then paint in such way that no body think it is repaired one or the new one

I have been using JDM Alto 2015 for one and half year now and have driven it more than 50,000 km. I wanted to share my experience:

1. engine oil: total quartz 9000 0W20 - always changed it after 7k km. because in my opinion combined with experts reviews, using fully synthetic oil and dumping it below 5k isn't worth it.

2. spark plugs: alto came with altis grande spark plugs which are similar to mentioned in JDM manual. These spark plugs are considered obsolete models (NGK ILKR7J8, DENSO ZXU22HPR8) and their alternates are available which are: ILKR7D8, LKR7AIX; LKR7BIXP, LKR7AIXP; IXUH22I, VXUH22I - referenced to NGK and DENSO official websites; i have opted for NGK LKR7BIXP recently.

3. tyre pressure matters a lot. i have been using 29-30 psi but when went through manual i found that recommended pressure is even higher and i have been using 32 psi pressure for a long time now.

With 0W20 oil and 32 psi tyre pressure with tyre size of 155-65-R13, i have personally experienced as following:

a) in relatively moderate season in which AC wasn't required i traveled around 650 km with average 80 km/h speed (zindagi say bezaar ho k koi bohat hi thakay huye banday ki tarah pedal pay paon rakha hua tha) and i ended up with 32.4 km/h. or hum pakistani agay foran puchtay hen k petrol wali hai ya meter wali so, it was petrol wali in a single fill up of 27 litre tank. 32.4 is exaggerated figure but the reason to mention it is to realize the people that with recommended oils, pressure, spark plugs, routine maintenance and most importantly banday k putron wala soft foot in Alto JDM can potentially help in achieving not exactly 37 as claimed by suzuki japan but 30+ even in pakistan.

b) recent trip from islamabad to toba tek singh which i have done with bigger tyre size (MAXXIS 165-65-13) as compared to previous one (Bridgestone 155-65-13) with full AC, 3 adults, full saaz o saman, kept speed around 120 and above throughout the journey except salt range and i got 20 km/h average at the end of the day.

Based on my personal experience, i'll always recommend to go for JDM if one is looking for Alto.

Walikumasalam bro. Since the required parts will be the same for your car and the locally produced alto 660cc, so you can easily get them from any well reputed Suzuki parts supplier. Get the bearing replaced if possible. Whole Hub will be a little costly maybe.

Yes I also heard about this from a friend today so it's better to get the hub replaced. New hub will last a long time Insha Allah.

No, not at all if done properly.

After unexpected rain last month in Karachi, my all bearings started noise as I continously drove in water for long time.

So I replaced all 2 weeks ago. Japanese Bearings costed me 4000 + some other associated parts while mechanic in Karachi took 3000 Labor cost

i have a 2015 turbo RS Triptronic auto with paddle shifters and i need some info in regards to that i want to change its gear oil now the problem is what kind of a gear box does it have CVT/AT etc what oil should i use quantity etc

triptonic transmission is not CVT. so it's simply ruled out. transmission of your car is AGS (auto gear shift). so you may go for oil mentioned against AGS car which is grade SAE 75W API GL-4 or equivalent which is available in market. you may opt for any popular brand but from its authorized dealer.

people around are afraid to touch the magnetic signature imprinted into these bearings. they don't recommend changing the bearing instead advise to go for hubs for JDM Alto 2015 and above. please let me know which alto model are you using? is it JDM 2015 or above? one of my bearings starts humming around 80-90 km/h. it has still not led to any inconvenience but i'll look for solution if it goes any louder.

i'll always stick with manufacturer's recommendation especially if it's from Suzuki Japan (leave Pak Suzuki please). I have been using same oil, spark plugs, transmission oil (changed once) and even tyre pressure not exactly as per recommendation but higher than what we use normally and even after around 50k+ km drive i have still not faced any performance degradation.

I want your valuable opinion because I want to buy alto JDM 8th generation but my concern is availability of parts and mantainance. Can we find parts easily in Pakistan? As we know that Pak made new alto is apparently same as jdm so can we use Pakistani alto parts in jdm model?
