PKDM Alto has the same engine as the JDM Alto so dont worry about that.
The only main difference will be transmission and eco idle system.

Almost all body parts can be used of the local alto so buying JDM alto is a great decision if you can find a genuine graded one.

Parts of local Alto may not be as cheap as mehran but they are affordable as compared to Kabli Alto Parts

Alto 660cc cvt JDM 2014, 38k driven.

Car jerks while accerating especially when ac on or going uphill. When going on motorway at 90 or 100, feels car is missing.

Spark plugs, catalytic cleaned, tuning done, fuel injector cleaned through liqui moli.using 0-20 havoline engine oil.

I have been to several workshops like auto club, and i10 workshops but so far no one has diagnosed it.

Can anyone suggest if face same issue?
Or suggest any good workshop in Islamabad?

Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased Suzuki alto JDM 2012 model which odo reading of 82k giving mileage of 14.8 km/l in city ...i want to discuss issue of a sound which comes from my car when car is accelerating and speed is in between 20-40 km/h (I read few articles on pakwheels from which i assume that this is knocking sound) its like kir kir coming out of engine..
I visited suzuki 3s dealership in Lahore they did tuning,CAT cleaning, throttle body cleaning, and they scanned my car and advised me to try a tank of HI octane. I did all of this stuff but still the sound is there though overall pick and performance of my car improved after that visit..i visited them again they empty my fuel tank and make me fill it with HI octane from their recommended pump at road test sound was not there but after couple of days it started very faintly but now its getting worse..
I have come to Rawalpindi so i request experts to please guide me what should i do to get rid of this noise and secondly suggest some good mechanic for Japanese cars in Rwp..
What i plan after reading articles on internet is that i should check or may be replace plugs and secondly i should get my car knock sensor checked...
Any suggestions ???

Which engine oil are you using? My experience with these JDM cars is that they are very sensitive to fuel quality and start knocking if fuel is not of good quality. What's the history of transmission oil? Has it been changed before?

These efi cars are very sensitive. do your radiator fan direct??? if yes make sure to be on auto radiator fan. secondly. open your plug and see status of piston head through boroscope camera. if too much carbon. clean it with carbeurator cleaner or diesel and change your engine oil after this process.

Thanks for your response fan is on auto and i have recently changed plug using original Denso iridium plugs... please suggest engine oil for JDM alto with 85k mileage???

Go for 5w30 or 0w30 fully synthetic.

see the owners manual and use the oil accordingly. Dont ask any mechanic or anyone else, just consult the owners manual that came with car

I'm sure the owner's manual would recommend 0w20 but my experience with 2 JDM cars (Passo 2014 and Mira es 2011) over the last 3 years is that 0w20 is not suitable in our environment where ambient temperature gets quite high in summers. Oil reduction can occur. 0w30 fully synthetic is best as it is now available by Shell also apart from zic and kixx.

Bhai every engine consumes oil and if it is under normal limits then it is ok. If manual says 0w20 then use 0w20, no question asked. And "our environment" is not the hottest on planet earth, there are much hotter places where engines use even thinner viscosities compared to 0w20. Ambient temperature plays no part in the hotter side of engine lubrication, as the operating temperature is much higher than ambient. Oil viscosity is chosen on the engine design thats why manufacturers always mention a "preferred" viscosity along with other compatible ones

If reducing oil was indeed a normal characteristic of a healthy engine then it would reduce oil from day one of its life, not like my Passo which started to reduce oil at around 70,000kms mileage. You have to look at both the viscosity ratings of a multi grade oil. I'm recommending 0w30 and not 5w30 because it will flow better at startup and will provide better protection at high rpms or heavy load instead of 0w20. Just my two cents bro.

it is normal characteristic of engine. Also, if you happen to have used fake oil or someone else before you, in the car you own, then that might have caused engine damage. Anyway, in my opinion if engien asks for thin oil then that must be used, especially for modern engines. Btw, have you tried changing brand of 0w20 in your engine?

Yes definitely, cheap fake oil can also cause damage but I only get oil from company operated pumps or 3S dealerships. Yes I've tried Shell and total 0w20 and it is consuming about half a liter during 5000kms of running. Which is not very much but still very disturbing for me as I've owned this car since it was 38k Kms on do and never reduced oil before.

After going through a lot of threads and info on the internet forums, I've concluded that 0w20 can get too thin at high rpms and can cause wear and tear. This is just my opinion. Also, these 660cc engines have to rev quite high on highway driving to maintain speeds of 100-120kmph.
