I myself own a pkdm alto 660 and use 0w20, no issues so far. And yes, half a litre in 5k kms is not too much. Also, what I have found out in several researches is that thineer oils are better suited for high rev high torque engines. Manufacturers have specifically designed the engine to require a certain cst at operating temperatures, to lubricate properly and cool down the engine. Now if my car starts consuming oil within limits then I wouldnt bat an eye. Alhamdulillah, I own a pkdm wagonr and alto, both using sgo 0w20

Look in some cars, some oil reduction is normal and mentioned in their manual like in Hyundai Santro engine, it is mentioned clearly in manual.

Hi Everyone,

I have suzuki alto JDM 15 model. It has transmission oil recommended CVT (Green 2).

I can not find Green 2 in Islamabad. My mechanic suggested me not to use zic or kixx as the car will start giving jerk it will ruin the transmission.

However, the tech guy at zic told me you can use zic multi cvt as this covers green 2 in its specifications.

Few people told me to use Nissan ns2/3 as it is compatible with suzuki green 2.

Please guide on above. Many thanks

Look at the CVT fluid bottle, most brands cover Green 2 specifications which should be written on the bottle. Personally I used Bell1 cvtf fluid - it has Green 2 specs running on it. Vehicle is running fine for the last 25000 KM. Also Caltex cvt oil covers the Green 2 specs and is cost effective.

Don't have the bottle, I just paid for the oil that was used, didn't buy the whole pack. It's been almost 2 years now. Next change will be at 80,000km

while i was looking for synthetic oils for motorcycle, i came across Bell1. don't know about its reputation. i found its metallic packing well-sealed and quite fascinating. please share some reviews about products of Bell1 if you have used other than cvtf fluid.

Using Alto JDM 2012 odometer reading 84500k kms

Query: Noise from engine at accelerating it sounds like kir kir i assume this is knocking sound

Remedies done so far: tuning,cat cleaning, throttle body cleaning,gear oil change with pan cleaning,engine oil change using Zic 10-40 , plugs changed using denso iridium,timing belt changed and along with another part mechanic say 'kaim' on which chain rotates..

Suggestions recieved: try fuel system cleaner,
Please advise to get rid of this annoying noise..need expert opinion

Hi All,

Hope everyone is keeping well. I am experiencing a hard suspension at the back when two people sit on rare seats.

Its jdm alto 15 model. I believe the suspensions of japnese car are made according to the roads of japan and has “soft springs” due to which when two people sit the car lower it self down which results into “dag dag” sound when hit potholes.

Also the tyre size installed in my car is 165/65 r13 and tyres need replacement can this also cause this issue? Should i install 165/70 r13?

Please comment on above and if there is any other alternative do let me know.

alto jdm comes with hard suspension. persons sitting back would mostly feel uncomfortable while car hitting pothole. i have same car and same tyre size. people advise to go for some different springs or spacers in rear suspension. i would never go for it.

I heard some noise around 80k while accelerating and decelerating and adjuster bearing was the culprit.
I am still using 0w20 fully synthetic around 80k. until car starts consuming oil, i think it's better not to switch to higher grades.

Yes my mechanic told me to use another set of springs. Those springs are also japnese made and it will provide a better jump. Btw, i wont go for spacers that makes a car ugly from back.

Hi All,

I am planning to change the springs both front and rear for my alto 660cc 15 model. The suspension feels very hard on normal roads even.

I have noticed when someone sits on passenger seat, the car rides more smoothly. When i am the only one driving the car the becomes more bumpy and ride feels in the air.

Can this be the issue of shocks? Although there is no noice in the shocks. Can spring replacement can resolve the issue? If yes, should i go for hard or soft springs?
My mechanic told me this jdm variant comes with many sort of springs

stock suspension is hard btw. i am using the same. changing springs or some people go for spacers, these things will definitely affect your suspension system as shock absorber is part of it.
in case your change it, do share your experience, please.

Attique instead of changing the shocks and stuff, i switched to local variant.

You bought the sports edition its supposed to be hard. It has 15 inch rims with low profile tires and stiffer springs.
All you can do is buy new tires if they are old or downgrade tires and rims to a smaller size
