Suzuki alto JDM transmission fluid suggestion

Hi Everyone,

I have suzuki alto JDM 15 model. It has transmission oil recommended CVT (Green 2).

I can not find Green 2 in Islamabad. My mechanic suggested me not to use zic or kixx as the car will start giving jerk it will ruin the transmission.

However, the tech guy at zic told me you can use zic multi cvt as this covers green 2 in its specifications.

Few people told me to use Nissan ns2/3 as it is compatible with suzuki green 2.

your trans takes a CVT fluid which was made by Idemitsu - and is not sold in Pakistan, the closest you can get to that CVTF is the toyota fluid.

the only oil recommended for this cvt is Nissan NS3 or Suzuki G2. All other oils including Kixx,Zic,Liquimoly are too thick and lack the proprietary additives present in oem cvt oil. To make it easier to understand ,consider this, Nissan states NS2 is not compatible with NS3 but yet these aftermarket brands like Kixx,Zic label them as suitable for use.There is a big difference between approval and "suitable for use" tag

Toyota cvtf is ns2 compatible not with ns3

The only oil closely comparable is Toyota cvt fe. Aisin cfex is ok for ns2/green1 only. though people have been using aisin/zic/caltex but shift behavior changes slightly.

I could not find any details regarding ZIC, however, as far as Kixx and Caltex / Havoline brands are concerned, they offer fully synthetic CVTFs, and these both are compatible with your car's transmission type, i.e. CVTF Green 2.

I purchased Caltex CVTF when I intended to change CVTF in one of my ex-rides. My car reqd. Toyota Genuine CVTF-FE, but it costed around 7500~8000 Rs. / 4L bottle, whereas this Caltex CVTF came at almost half the price and met the criteria of CVTF-FE. I changed the CVTF and drove my car for around ~20,000 Kms before I finally sold it, and during this time, I never faced any issues with my car's transmission, be it lagging, jerks, etc.

I can not find Green 2 in Islamabad.

Based on my personal experience, I can state that you can use Caltex CVTF in your ride with confidence, if original / OEM is not available. It meets the OEM criteria.

If it is mentioned in the PDS (Product Data Sheet) of ZIC Multi CVTF that it covers Suzuki Green 2 requirements, then it can also be used.

Still, if I have to rate, I would rate Caltex as the best in these 03 (then Kixx, and lastly ZIC).

Whichever brand you choose, just ensure that CVTF is authentic, and the oil change guy does not mess up anything while changing CVTF.
