I got one in 2019 October
Upgraded our 2002 Vitz at home. Mostly driven by my father at night, and wife and mother at day time.
It was my night drive and spare car aswell.
It's a wonderful car. Fuel averages between 17.5 and 21 kmpl depending on your driving route. Even with a heavy foot.
My concerns with the car were who would repair it if the clutch dies.
Day one when I purchased it, I was of the view one should upgrade it every 2 years even if it means replacing alto with alto.
After seeing some accidents of alto I was never comfortable with handing over the car to family.
Have taken it on motorway driven quite a few times (karachi bahria town etc). The car is too under powered and seems fragile altho I had zero troubles or warranty claims in 29000 km or 2.5 years of ownership.
The AGS is a wonderful add on if you are moving from manual, but a disappointment when moving from AT or CVT, the system isn't intelligent enough, but does the job.
In all of 2 years I had driven it the most in January 2022, since I sold my main office use car. I had to upgrade my office car first and alto was supposed to be upgraded later this year.
In the last month I felt on D1 when starting to move from standstill the car felt if it was releasing the clutch late or struggling to start moving, maybe because I moved from a 1800cc Corolla,
When coming out of a basement as rpms go up it shifts on 2nd gear which can be scray. You need to learn when to use the M mode.
When slowing down, you expect the car to remain on 2nd gear, it usually shifts to 1st gear, which at times gets very scary, often at crossings you know u can cross before a upcoming car, it shifts to first gear and then their isn't enough power.
Suzuki had a very good exchange offer to replace your old car and get a newer one in 1 week. I how ever got a new car same day.
Since I had already booked a home use car, I traded alto with a cultus for office use.
Another car is due this month too. Il drive cultus, alto gets upgraded InshaAllah.
My wife, mother and sister keep complaining why did I sell the alto.
Since every one loved it could be parked anywhere, maneuvering was a peice of cake.
After saying all that I feel 660cc cars are underpowered, low on AC performance, not ideal for motorway / hiway useage or speeds over 80kmph.
Wagonr in my opinion is a wiser decision if you don't have trouble with its shape. It's much more spacious and powerful. The ac is good as of a Corolla.
This is just my experience. Alto is powerful then any other 660cc avaliable in the market because it has a manual gear box, cvts are a different story, I'd recommend you to test drive before you decide.
Parts avaliablity is very good and parts are realitively cheap
Bumpers cost rs.3500/4000 for genuine, copies are even cheaper.
Bumper spacers are 150/250
Had to replace a fender once it was rs. 4500.
