Not worth a dime over 1295k they're asking already. I hope awaam boycotts these cr*py assemblers and i hope our stupid government forces these liars / assemblers to become true manufacturers and sell their stuff at fair prices. No matter how much they try to justify the dollar hike, even after conversion from pkr to usd, the quality of the cars they produce in their pre-historic plants using cheap labor is far far away from what you can get in the same dollar price in any decent country. In Pakistan these liars / assemblers probably keep the pockets of the people in the government supposedly responsible to keep a check on them full and warm.

p.s. I am calling them liars because they have been promising the government of Pakistan that they will become manufacturers after a 'few' years of operation in Pakistan but decades have passed and they are still assembling from imported kits and yet doing a horrible job at it and then charging crazy amounts on that.

being keyboard warrior is very easy. from comfort of chair it is very easy to call names.

almost all brands name sedans available in Pakistan are 80% manufactures locally. whenever is the next automotive exhibition by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers do not miss that.

Only engine +ECU + transmission is imported. All other items are 100% made in Pakistan.The air bag kits are imported & inserted, connected with local wiring in air bag equipped vehicles.

When did I say 100% is imported? that's called CBU, I am talking about CKD. There needs to be more localization than it is at the moment. It's a country with a huge population. You have to localize to bring down the costs in a sustainable manner.

Increasing car prices equally with the dollar parity is not justified. Look at Honda they have increased price by 12% and interestingly dollar has also been valued by 12% but on the other hand their cars are not 100%imported but 40% is local components so practically they should pass 60% impact not more than that.
Also they have been enjoying alot of benefits in duties and taxation in return of increasing local components but this is the delama that investors are enjoying benefits but in return dont share anything with the country.

Another fact is that in the next budget the duty on auto parts has been reduced to 5% from 10, therefore even their prices of imported parts should also be reduced but we are not seeing it.
Fact is that if you look at their financial reports their margins and profits have been reduced drastically which is mainly due to low sales and in return they want to opt for luxury car sales model where you maintain your profitability by selling lesser units but with high margins

reduction of tarrif is very obvious in view of currency devalution.

check the international price for a Corolla Altis / Honda Civic / Suzuki Ciaz in US$ .. and convert with current exchange rate.
- features, quality etc etc - are 3rd tier issues for prices.

You are right in saying but actually there is difference also as if you take US Corolla prices then you need to take their wage rates, cost of unit produced and also their profitability is in dollars, and last but not the least how much unit they sale in one year (alone corrola sales more units what we sale in Pakistan by manufactures)
Globally auto manufacturers strategy is always to offer more to increase the sales but in Pakistan it's very strange that they increase price with nothing to offer new, As I said it's all about to maintain their profitability.

the govt scale of daily wages // - do we pay such wages to our labour ? do we have such social security infrastructure in place, free health care, free education, running water in tap for human consumption ?

india is exporting vehicles to Bangaldesh, South Africa, & Israel so they cater not to local requirement but to export of brand name as well.

Like if you look at the Indian market they have very very thin margins but companies maintain their profitability by selling more units, we have 220 million population and same model can be replicate here, but still manufacturers opted for different strategy.
India has also opted for same policies like localization which they did and manufacturers in return maintained their profitability with optimum price but in Pakistan they only make profits

hardly 2% are vehicle users, and due to serious financial policy flaws leasing from banks is a serious challenge. Buying a vehicle is capital investment in Pakistan.,

India on the other hand has very flexible leasing terms, specially for trucks & bus frames / CBU Buses.

Pakistan cars per capita is 17
And India cars per capita is 22 so there is not much of difference, secondly you have rightly pointed out leasing problem as the financing rates in paksitan are among highest which is the major problem of low sales (as we sale 40% cars on financing). But never the less it doesn't release manufacturers from jacking up their proces in equal parity with dollars
