Using caltex havolin 0w20 in 2019 alto ags. Change interval is 8k along with oil filter. Oil is still nice dark golden at that point

im pretty sure that SGO is infact Caltex rebranded as SGO.

BUT 8000 is a bt too much for 2.7 litre sump.

do u remember how much did it cost you for oil change?

Please let me know if you have a guy in Lahore who does it the right way. Yes i also think my installer had done jugar. My Amp has a built in fuse and a fuse did come with the wiring but the guy said there is no need. Needless to say i did not agree with him then and i understand the system is not properly tuned or wired. In my experience i only have come across such idiots who don't know about soldering or heat shrinks even. So a proper installer is needed.

Is the sump size supposed to have an effect on the oil performance? I've been using havoline 0w20 since the car clocked 15k km's. Cars currently at 45k. Same oil, same intervals give or take. Havnt faced any issues whatsoever

5000miles/8000kms is the ideal change interval time for synthetic oils. Some manufacturers recommend 10k but that's pushing it. I honestly think you're just wasting money if you change at 5k. Ofcourse you can do it to be cautious but you'll see the oil is still good at 8k when you are changing it next time

Nope. Close to 50k and its still going strong. The only thing I did was change the gear oil at around 30k if I remember correctly. Suzuki uses sae90 gear oil. It was horrible and the car would jerk on each gear change. Switched first to zic 75w85. Noticed the jerking was reduced. Later switched to sae75 gear oil. Much smoother shifts

I know of soundworks in lahore. They have done good work but it's a place I havnt been to. Plus the idea of a 911 install ( taking your car to a shop to redo a previously crappy install by another shop ) isn't favoured by many unless you buy things from them

If you do visit islamabad/pindi, you can visit soundvalley. Owners a member here and he has the knowledge to do a proper install

more oil can contain more debri and contamination as compared to lesser oil, very simple.

cars having longer oil change intervals have large oil sump like 6 ltr / 10 ltrs etc.

and it makes sense changing oil after 10k kms or even more.

Well you see my conundrum then. Btw this time upon installation i used a "professional" guy recommended by the owners that i bought the stuff from. i.e new multimedia and polk speakers and installation wires. These are the guys other audio shops get their stuff from. I refused too go to the earlier or market guys and still this is what I got. Now other "professional" shops would like me to buy more stuff to reinstall wiring.
Btw the sound in my car is not bad just loud. I am ok living with it for now. In future i might do a complete DIY instead of visiting someone who would only wire what they sold. In my experience one has to do it themselves or run after the service provider again and again till one is satisfied. Just don't have that much time.

I think you phrased that sentence wrong and That's the first time I'm hearing something like this. Makes no sense at all. Please get yourself a magnetic drain plug and see if what you are saying is true when you change your oil. Like I said, I've been changing 0w20 oil at 8k intervals. There are no indications of any contamination or metal shavings on the magnetic plug

I do most of the work myself. Like I said, not a hard thing for diy'ers. But I've been dealing with Soundvalley so I know how the owner takes passion in doing the work himself. Soundworks, carnation, lasersound are big places in lahore but you have to stand over their head to make sure everything is done correctly

If you do visit islamabad, I'd be more than happy help you with the wiring myself since I have all the equipment at home. Here's a pic of the 0 gauge big4 wire I worked on myself

Recommended was 40k. I think mine was driven around 33-34k when changed. Suzuki uses sae90. Its literally like thick honey. That's why switched and the results are quite noticeable

They got the recommended oils for both the engine and transmission wrong with this car. They probably poured in what was available and cheap

Suzuki is getting 0w-20 from ineos I think. And getting it changed at 5k kms is fine. I have stretched it up to almost 6.5k kms once and oil came out in the right qty and color seemed fine to me.

No, there is absolutely nothing wrong in wat i mentioned and it does make perfect sense.

i will try to explain one more time and it is very basic common sense with no complexities involved.

The VOLUME of oil circulation has INVERSE relationship with the level on Contamination Concentration. More the volume of oil, lesser the contamination concentration and vice versa.

Asaan lafzon mein, if u mix five drops of ink in a glass of water it will change the color of water, however same quantity of ink will have no effect on water color if its mixed in full bucket of water.
