I have Suzuki Baleno Jxr 2003, The Car has wiring issues. The last owner of the car did not maintained it well and made thousands of Jugars (saving money), which Iam rectifying till date. i have spent over it alot as its my daily commute. The wiring is too much messy but somehow i have get it repaired temporarily. The Alternator goes bad very soon. This is the fourth time in 2 years that iam looking for a solution for my alternator. Last time i installed a big amperage alternator (kabuli) the electrician told me that baleno comes with 55 amp alternator. But your car needs big alternator due to different accessories i have installed. i agreed and he told me that he is installing 90 amperage alternator. that costs 5000 (kabuli). After installation i checked the charging with full load. However the result was not up to the mark. it was going below 13 volt on idle with full load and barely making to 12.5 on revs. With out load the charging was 13 volt. The electrician told me that its fine however i was not convinced. Somehow i ran the car for 7-8 months. Recently i installed a screen with navigation unit and replaced the Amplifier. The car was running fine. however the interior lights were dim on full load.
Recently the car made a trouble. i was driving with full current load and all of sudden lights were dim and navigation screen got off. i Quickly turned off all extra things including AC. and i was able to get back to home. i take the car to a new electrician at Tariq road refereed by my friend. He checked the voltage and recommend me to replace the alternator. He said Suzuki Lianas alternator will be Bolt on and has more amperage than Baleno original alternator. I told him that i previously installed a bigger alternator (90amp) that has failed so how the 80amp can bear the load. He said your previous electrician made u fool and that was 55-60 amp alternator of an old civic. Liana 80amp alternator can easily handle your load. i agreed and thought what if he is also making me fool. i asked for a bigger alternator he said that needs alot of effort and modification. and that cost double as well. so i agreed for 80 amp alternator (kabuli). after installation i checked the voltage. On idle position the voltage were around 12.9 with out load and 12.1 on full load. i have asked him that it must be above 14.2 without load and 13 with full load at all times. he laughed and said. if it is not going below 12 than it is fine. Hiam still not satisfied with the result and his statements and explanations. He said your car battery(9 months older) is weak. i get to the battery seller and got it checked. he said the battery is fine. Car
s interior lights (clock, Speedo meter) get very dim as i switched on different things, AC and Amplifier or increase volume.
Below is the current load and charging reading
Load:
1) 3000 volts amplifier, 4 speaker, 18inch woofer
2) 7 inch Andriod/ Navigation/ Dvd Screen
3) AC
4) Mobile charger
5) Fog Lights
Readings with out any load (Head lights and every thing off):
Idle Position 13.1 v
at 2000 RPM 13.7 v
Readings with full load (everything on)
Idle Position 12.1 v
at 2000 RPM 12.9 v
Please recommend me a solution
