Suzuki Baleno JXR 2003 Ignition issues

Hi there!, my baleno JXR 2003 got very HOt during a highway journey, since then it took long self to start and few days later completely came to a stand still. i towed it to a mechanic and he said its head gasket is damaged which require to be changed. then he placed 2 head gaskets instead of one saying that the previous one was thicker.... later he also changed the plugs and plug cables and i changed the oil n air filter and oil change as well. but still the car did not came to life, then he called the electrician and he said initial pulse is not there, and some sensor needs to be changed, he changed it and after fiddling with its electrical system my car finally came to life but since then its pick was very disappointing and it require many ingition attempts and quite some time to warm up before i could actually drive it. ...the story does not end here...today again my car has refused to start and i dont know what to do....! can anyone help me in this regard please...thnx!

Brother Baleno is most pathetic due to electrical issues specially on CNG.

Firstly use a single genuine OEM gasket.

Check all the valve seals and tappet seals for leakage of engine oil and gear oil

Service / Replace the radiator and flanges (metal pipes which go to engine for water) and rubber pipes. If there is no leakage in the system the water / coolant will remain constant in the car for months.

Use thermostat and auto fan once all the radiator and fans are in proper working condition.

Always use a high quality coolant like Toyota SLLC or ZIC Coolant.

Now coming towards the electrical part you will need to change the 4 ignition coils and starter motor for your car from kabar market.

In excellent condition it will cost you Rs. 1,000 / coil and Rs. 2,000 for starter motor which will easily work for 2-3 years in CNG cars.

Check the ECU for errors on any OBD scanner.

Check all fuses are in proper place and wiring is properly done with no cutting or short wiring.

Also check the Alternator and Battery with multimeter for voltage. It should be more than 12V for Alternator.

Check the car when engine is running at night, the places where current is leaking will glow like stars at dark. DONT touch anything its high voltage.

that is usually a crank sensor failure. Our mechanics also do a nice collosal goofup on this car. They use a screwdriver to pull the main pulley off which breaks the timing belt lower cog pulley which also has the tone wheel welded to it. They then try to have it brazed with brass - which wont work because brass is not magnetic.

Ask your mechanic - did he damage the crank timing pulley? and did he try to wrestle with the oil sump too? Is the engine timed properly on the camshaft?

If everything is good, check the resistance of the sensor itself, if its about 400 ohms its good, otherwise its shot - buy a "brand new sensor" - check the wiring too, it can also rip off if its not secured with its ties.

i own a baleno
never had cng problems in it
but due 2 poor cng quality i am starting 2 have some problems in it for 1 month but still it works on cng
