Aoa guys,

So I finished the break in period on my ciaz auto. I wanted to see what the acceleration on this car is. I always thought that the 1.5 auto city aspire was quicker because of it being 1.5 . However its astonishing that it isn’t.

Fast forward to 7 mins into the video and see the 0-100

I confirmed again to see that the results are similar.

You can see that the ciaz does it waayyy better here

Fast forward to 4mins into the video above.

So a differnce of roughly 2 secs is significant. For people who are comparing ciaz vs city in terms of performance . You can get the answer.

Ciaz is faster and more fuel effecient . Finally i tried the 0-100 on my own ciaz. Because many people wrote in the comments section of the video review of ciaz that they ( pakwheels ) have been paid to do this review. One can speculate that the figures might have been twisted.

However....

My ciaz does 0-100 in roughly 11.5 secs as well.

No offence to city owners please . I think it beats ciaz in many aspects . This comparison is Based on performance.

I personally tested the above to check against pakwheels video review. It seems that the results are similar.

Please note: If you ever try anything like this make sure that you do it carefully on an open wide road with no traffic. I did near lake city lahore making sure there is no one infront of me or behind me. Please be safe.

But

Have you seen the videos above bro ? HP is not the only factor that determines how quick or responsive a car is. There are power losses in transmission and other areas as well, also how the gearing ratios are setup. You can search on youtube for various videos of the aspire 1.5 0-100 prosmatec (not the manual versions). There is none that can show that it does it in less then 13.5 secs. Pakwheels official road tests state 12:11 secs for CIAZ and 14:39 for City.

Secondly. Check the difference in weight attached URL from pakwheels comparison. It (city) weighs 180 Kgs more as well (The K series engine and high tensile steel frame of ciaz make it extremely light weight), so at the end there is not a lot of difference in power to weight ratio. Even if it was , it does not translate into lightning acceleration that it should have.

My logic dictates. Real life test drives / road tests are always different from what numbers , Horse power body weight etc mean.

Horsepower is only one of the factors in determining how fast a car is. A lot of other factors are in play and are equally, if not more, important than bhp. First, there is the weight of the car, which, Ciaz has 975 kg as compared to 1155kg of City. Secondly, the torque curve, which is primarily responsible for acceleration, determines which car will be faster off the hook. It is possible that Ciaz's low end torque is better than City's, which gives it a better headstart etc.

In short, comparing only bhps doesn't mean that something will be faster, otherwise, a 660cc turbocharged car would be faster than an old Cultus or a Mehran, but in real life, you will find out that that is not the case.

Sir, City 1.5 PT does 0-100 in 11 seconds . If your 1.4 auto is doing it in the same time then it is in fact very fast for a 1.4 L automatic.
Corolla Altis 1.6 does it in 12s.
This particular pakwheels review video is flawed however as the gear changes at 6k rpm , that's before city reaches it's peak power. This happens because of double floor mats.
Half of our people put heavy/double floor mats and this is what happens when your race pedal doesn't touch the floor because of those mats.
On D upon fully flooring the pedal gears automatically change at 6.5k rpm.

secondly the car you are comparing with is indian Ciaz which has latest k15 engine in 1497 CCnot the pakistani Ciaz which is 1397 or so CC. not a fair comparison.

@mani9999 . Yes I will do that. The videos posted above bro are the pakistani ciaz and honda city 1.5 prosmatec. The new indian ciaz 1.5 would be even faster then what I have shared in the videos. The videos are one from Sunil munj bhai from the ciaz that he test drove and reviewed and the second one shared is my own ciaz. So we are not talking about the indian ciaz.

I will do a drag race with one to post the conclusion here.

I dont know why Pakistani people just dont simply say Ciaz has not better resale so we will stick with 2009 shape road safety features-less City. Why keep coming up with limited knowledge about how cars works to prove here that Ciaz is the worse car produced on earth ever. And even if we were so goof to invest 1.8m on junk car and now boosting about its good things, then we are doing it in Ciaz Fan Forum, and irony is none of Ciaz owner disagreeing on results, but the ones who keep peeping here are always first responders to criticize.

Dear bhaiyya,

They have the right to critisize. I am a ciaz owner and love it , but suzuki has had a bad reputation in the past and all this is doing ,is bringing different point of views . So lets keep on the educated friendly debate here . City is a good car even with some of the issues that people criticize for it, for the person who owns it and spent his hard earned money on it, its a great car for him right ? Yes Honda should have upgraded by now but , that holds true for ciaz as well. We are getting a very low end version here compared to the international market.

It is after these debates and threads that people can differentiate between two options so.... lets be friendly towards criticism , if it is done logically and in a civilised manner , which all our brothers here are currently doing :), we will certainly agree to conclusions.

Sorry didnt mean to disrespect, but having upgraded from City 2013 Aspire, i find it uselss to compare City with Ciaz. Yes i am more than interested to see Ciaz comparison with Kia, Hyundai or new City 6th Gen variants to make it purposeful. My only problem is with mindset, which stops us from exploring or testing new things just due to resale values. Thats the reason Mehran, Cultus, City, and even Corolla havent yet find any real challenge. Honda in whole world selling 6th Gen at same price its selling 5th Gen to Pakistanis.

how did you measure that? instant ? if you took picture from current mileage, it keeps changing every second, so it doesn't give real picture

if you notice it says "Avg" right besides it. If it was instantaneous mileage AVG would not appear. So he has taken a snapshot of the Avg mileage.

@sufyanmasood9 that is awesome bro. In my experience however , the real mileage is slightly less then what is shown on the meter. Approx 1 km/litre less. The real way to check it is to refuel after 100km or so approx and use auto stop fuel tank fill to auto stop next fuel tank fill and then do the conventional Km/litres consumed mathematics.

Nonetheless , 22.5 is Awesome. This is close to a Hybrid . So you got a Hybrid CIAZ

Bro you got 60367 on the Odometer. How has the car been so far ? Any issues with suspension, gear box , engine. Also how are (if any) squeaky noises from dashboard and doors and pillars. I know that many local cars have complains about "Khar khar " , noises from the interior. How is CIAZ doing in this regard ?
