Here you go. This is Toyota in USA recommending 10000 miles (over 16000 km) interval for synthetic engine oil change for yaris, Corolla and many more.

And 16000 km is oem recommended. It is even advised to stretch the oil by 2000 km. i.e it comes down to a figure of 18000 km. Talk about OEM? They even recommend 0w-16 for newer Corollas, happy now?

in fact it is recommended change oil in once a year or after every 15000km but our weather is too hot and dirty so not recommended to change. Go for every 5000km no experiment

Can u refer some document for 0w15 . Because i m pouring 0w 20 in gli . And feels smooth with no smell or loss . Someone told me to follow 5 w 30 now its not that fluid . My point can u plx refer a document or pic

Please see the first screenshot from manual of Toyota Corolla 2019 USA. The second screenshot is for 2020.

It says that 0w20 anbe used as alternative in case of availability issues of 0W16, so you're fine.

(There are also engines where oils of 0W8 grade are being used.)

I believe it's for the type of engine and not ambient temperature. If oil grade has to be based on ambient temperature then manufactures must be giving a proportional chart for regional ambient temperatures.

Well in a lot of cars, manufacturers do give a chart which indicates what type of engine oil to use at which temperatures.

Even for my Baleno, there is a chart given in the service manual indicating which viscosity of oil to use at which temperatures.

If chart is given then it should be followed. However I still believe the grade mentioned according to ambient temperature, in user manual, is for starting conditions.

Ambient temperature has effect only for cold start conditions, when the engine starts and reaches operating temperature then. I believe, ambient temperature does not matter, engine will be hotter than environment any way.

Hahhaa yes. I saw CVT wala point twice myself.

In an instance it was a vitz getting ATF oil poured in its CVT transmisin and that too by car wash guys on a cat wash service station in a petrol pump on Zafar Ali Road, Lahore. More than ATF in CVT, I was amused by the fact that it was being done by car wash guys 🤪

In another instance I came across a guy at lube shop on Walton road asking for gear fluid for his Honda Vezel that uses CVT HMMF fluid. The lube shop guy told him the price and that guy said "nahin mujhe regular ATF oil hee de dein". The lube shop owner tried to convince him to go for the right type of CVT HMMF fluid for Vezel and warned him that the ATF oil will demage the CVT transmission permanently but the car owner insisted "jab ho ga, dekha jaaye ga". He bought ATF oil to put in Vezel's CVT transmission.

Guys changing engine oil to other then Suzuki's voids the warranty totally? i used Total oil at 15k and now at 20k I also want to use the same Total oil....so what to do about this issue?
