Let me tell my experience. My Cultus also had this starting issue. Called the electrician 2 or 3 times to start the car. Every time he would pull the distributor wire that goes to ECU and it will start on first self. One day, I was determined to fix this issue permanently. So I started tracing that wire. Luckily I found a joint in wire which previous owner made to change the grip. That joint was badly corroded and electrical signal was not passing through it. I made the new joint and changed the wire to distributor grip. The problem is fully resolved for me.
In your case, any of the following things could be faulty:
1- The distributor grip contacts might have corroded and so electrical signal might not be passing properly.
2- The distributor itself could be faulty.
3- If Advancer is faulty, your car will not start.
4- If coil is dead, same problem will occur.
Solution:
- Check the grip. Clean it properly with cotton bud or something. Try starting the car. If problem lies in that change that.
- Distributor is mechanical part and it can go bad. Open distributor cap and clean the contacts.
- Advancer is used in CNG variants to advance and retard the timing. If it is faulty car will not start.
- If coil dies, it won't give any spark. Weak coil still gives weak spark but car should start after many self. Cultus coil is rock solid and does not die early. Check its grips as well for corrosion.
