My car is moving left while driving the car, initially it seems an alignment issue, but when I go for alignment, on the alignment plates, when I turn on the engine, the Steering motor was rotating the car to the left side. I have Electric Power steering installed in my Suzuki Cultus. The issue was identified with the motor. I go to Sultan ka Khu in Rawalpindi to discuss the issue with the Electric Power Steering shops. Mostly said they will reinstall the complete system because the motor or circuit can't be repaired. Few of them asked me if they will try for recalibration, if it works, then we will charge 3K, otherwise, you need to change the complete system. Last week, I found a guy there, he did recalibration for 1k, then we tried to test it at the nearby alignment shop. The alignment shopkeeper revealed new things. He showed me there was play in the left control arm(Chimtay, I think commonly called). He said to go to the denture, weld the left control arm because there was a small rusting. Secondly, he recommended installing a Chick rod at the front. (Chick rod is to join the left and right control arms so that the car remains aligned; it is adjustable) Now, I am thinking of installing it. Is it good to install it? Why company not install it? it there a good reason, or is there any other solution? I need to change the front suspension boots as well. I have attached the picture of left control arm, this rusted line needs to be welded according to the wheel alignment person.
