This might be a bit off topic but I posted a new thread for this and got no responses even after waiting for 6 days, so have to post here as well:
My problem: Very stiff/tough suspension
Details:
I am having an issue with my Cultus 2008, VXRi suspension . The car came with a factory fitted CNG cylinder, later on I removed the cylinder. The front shocks are not good and are too hard when driving on bumpy roads. The rear shocks are even worse. After removing the cylinder, whenever I drive over a hump or pothole, there is a a loud "dugg" sound- from rear shocks. This started after removing the cylinder. When there are 2-3 persons on the backseat, then there is no noise but the suspension still feels very stiff.
The car is 152000KMs driven and has never been in any accident.
Here is what I concluded:
1- Suzuki used a larger spring in rear to offset the added weight of cylinder. Removing that weight might be causing the issue
OR
2- The previous owner has used a larger rim/wheel, I am not sure about readings but it definitely looks bigger when compared to the stock wheel or rim. In order to accommodate the bigger rims, he might have added spacers. And this might be the reason why my suspension is all messed up.
Please advise how I can get this resolved?
If I revert back to the default 13'' rim, probably the one used in VXL and use appropriate tyre size, would that help? How would that impact the fuel average and ride/drive quality?
