pumps are not as simple as you think, in industry, small things like installing a pump too far from the tank or too long pipe on inlet are enough to cause failures.
Similarly, you are inviting trouble when you mount a pump far away from the fuel tank.
Best thing in my humble opinion is to stick to the original intank pump, which is the original design. Even decent chinese options are available for intank setting, I am using that in my margalla. Mitsubishi is the original tho
EFi requires a high pressure pump while carburetor requires low pressure. Too strong a pump can stress the carburetor needle valve, too small can starve the carburetor.
Ensure that fuel filter is good and also the strainer.
