No, the auto choke is locked. My mechanic said it can't be repaired, and getting a new one is a gamble, so it's best to leave it be. Another mechanic suggested I can do the work of the auto choke and rev up until 1500 RPM, then hold it steady until the car stabilizes.
I use Guard air filters, which have always been clean. I will check for oil now. (I only recently changed the PCV valve, and it hasn't been a month.) Are the wires also NGK? If I'm getting new wires, do I need to replace the distributor too?

Yes, the head gasket and exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking and need to be changed. It's odd that there are no bubbles in the radiator while the car is idling. I don't think there's even a thermostat in place.
