Suzuki cultus model 2008 efi not starting

My car is not starting. I have got it checked by mechanics they have check fuel system and it is ok. They say take it to suzuki workshop for computer check. If anyone has repair manual for this please email me on aqzamir@hotmail.com. I will be greatful.

can you give some more details please? When you turn the key does nothing happen? does the fuel pump prime ( do you hear a hum). A click? need more details

The engine cranks but the car is not starting seems some problem of any sensor as i said, mechanic and also electrician has checked the car but failed to start. May be these mechanics don't know anything about computer system

Similar issue reported earlier (and solved) on Pakwheels.

When turn on ignition (red lights come on in dash),
At this Point, before Cranking, There SHOULD be a Humming sound for few seconds. This sound comes from the Fuel Pump.
In Cultus EFI, the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, and sound is quite obvious in quiet surroundings.
IF you CAN hear the 'Humming' then Fuel pump is working fine.
NOTE: the humming is a few seconds only, if switch off ignition and repeat, the 'Humming' is repeated.

IF CANNOT Hear the Humming, the Fuel Pump is NOT working.
However NOT to worry, the Fuel pump is usually fine, it is only the connector that goes bad.
Connector is located UNDER the back seat.
Now, removing the Cultus back seat is not so simple (Yes, Toyota Corolla back seat is easier to remove).
In Cultus the back rest needs to be dismantled, before can get the bench cushion comes away.
The connector is white coloured plastic, Push on type, 4 wires, and in case of issue, colour would indicate something has burnt.

In few other posts, the battery has been the culprit.

Do feed back, if Observe the Humming sound or NOT.

The humming sound seems to be normal the way it used to be before... infact the fuel pump also seems to be working fine. My first thought went towards the battery too but that seems to be in good shape aswell as all the accessories and lights are working fine.

Here's some update on the car:
After getting it checked by a mechanic who checked the coil, cdi etc and then an electrician who checked the wiring, fuses etc.
Today I went to a guy for inquiry who checks cars with his scanning module thing (obd) to catch any errors. He said that most probably an IC is blown that exists on a "card" which costs atleast around 25k to replace (much more from Pak Suzuki). I think he meant the IC on the ECU board is blown.

Has anyone ever experienced such situation and how much does it cost if anyone knows? Also he mentioned in some cases resetting the computer solves the problem has anyone had it resetted? Any help is appreciated.

Take off your -ve terminal for 5 mins..that will reset the ecu (as far as i have done in my cars)..also, there is a plastic connector of two wires which can be located just near the coil - that is the main current supply to start the car..once my efi cultus stopped on road and refused to start...i traced the fault was this connector which i cleaned and remated and car has not done any issue since months now...see pics below for reference...red round...original pic of my own car

@abid110 Thanks brother, cleaning the connector and reconnecting it did the trick. The car fired right up... Didn't even need to reset the ECU. Can't believe it was such a simple thing that was causing this trouble and how the electrician didn't check that connector in the first place but anyhow thanks a lot mate.

Bro, pakwheel community is all about helping each other.. I am glad that my reply was of such help for you...just spray some wd40 inside the connector to do away with dust/rust/hindrances in connection...

Hi, I faced same problem. 3 days ago I travel lahore to faisalabad and stop a while for refreshments, when I try to start cultus was not starting even after that a man push car and then it started . After that I travel 3 days intercity and out city nothing happend but when I come back to lahore and in the evening I start car it was not stating even fuel pump was humming but mechanic said its fuel pump problem and he replace it today , and after that immediately cultus get started now let see in future what happens..
