Suzuki Cultus vs Baleno vs Honda City - Which one to buy in 2022?

Hello everyone,

I am going to buy my first car with my savings and I have 3 options mentioned in the title. My requirements are:

• FUEL EFFICIENT
• Occasionally I'll use it on Careem/Indrive so should fall in their GO category and again, fuel efficiency is a plus.
• I'm a single person so boot space isn't much of an issue
• Should be comfortable since I have to travel inter-city a lot
• Parts availability plus cheap parts
• Not much of known mechanical faults that can't be rectified

My budget: Rs. 1.1 million max.

Options:

• Suzuki Cultus 2013/2014
• Suzuki Baleno 2005 JXR
• Honda City IDSI 2006+ (Facelift)

Please guide me on which car should I buy considering my requirements. Would appreciate your response. JazakAllah

Go for cultus
In 1.1m budget you wont be getting a city idsi

1) only go for City IDSI if you really find a good car, because it would be 2005 or hardly 2006 model. The positives are good fuel economy, cheaper parts, easy maintenance, best resale value and most importantly its engine can be replaced from scrapyard markets when needed.

2) if you cannot find a clean City, then Cultus is a better choice cuz it would be relatively a lot newer model, hence would be in good shape. The positives are reliable car, good space inside, good resale value, okayish fuel economy in its class.. the biggest negative part is you cannot find a replacement engine for Cultus in the scarpyard markets : (

Thank you for such a detailed comparison. Appreciate it mate. Guess cultus is gonna be my option then since CITY that are up for sale aren't in good condition in the market.

indeed...it's hard to find a good condition City these days in cheaper price !

in 2020, when i was also looking to buy City.. there were no "good condition" cars available, and of those that were available, the owners were demanding so much .. i remember there was a less driven 2007 model City which owner was saying is total genuine inside out... i offered 1.4 million for that and he wrote my number in a register...so apparently he had an "offer book" : ) in which i saw people also offered more than me for the car ..

another one i called the owner and by the time i reached his home, the car was already sold ..
