Sir if the gear oil was missing bhai do give some care to the engine..
What is the mileage with these cars on Petrol. FX do ride alot better than a Mehran since it has a bit more weight..

Do remember to clean the carburetor
or change it with a new one , because you have to make some changes to it because of the CNG.

And fuel economy of my fx is around 15 kilometers on long ,that is really good because presently the engine is
Consuming oil.

That's a very nice and clean car. My FX had this color in the early 90s before it was changed to grey.

FX when they were genuine came in white, navy blue, dark grey, light grey, red, beige, brown, sky blue, seaish green.

This is something metallic it has been repainted at some point.... But at least the previous owner cared about that...

YES, shade is changed. the previous owner painted it bhatti approx 11 years ago, fully restored the car. but after that they just used it never bothered to see the car whats happening with her,.

when my friend bought it, both axles were shot, all gears were making noises because no gear oil was there since ages, approximately all the nut and bolts of the body were loose....even my mechanic showed me the foundation bolts were so loose that they can be opened easily with hands, doors making noises,

but relatively the car took the abuse bravely, with little tinkering and love, everything is fine and enjoyable now. just looking for seats and a going to restore the upper pad of dashbaord. then will handover the car back to friend who possible cleans his hand on driving.

there are heat insulation material available on ali express that are used for both sound deadening and heat insulation. Use it on your car roof it will help alot. or other waise the cheap solution is namda, maybe that will reduce a little heat trnafer.

Now a days multi flow condensers of mehran are available. a good ac technician can do a good job using the new things available in market. Engine should be in good nick to withstand the load of compressor and a good cooling system.

i have heard ppl using duet compressor putting less load on engine. maybe that can be matched with multiflow...i dont know that much about the technicals.

i have seen one white suzuki 800 in genuine condition with factory ac still working. the car was original, single owner doctor maintained. it had a chilled ac.

Right now it's heat everywhere ,from the roof, and doors ,a kind of a heater is all ways on because the fire wall doesn't have any heat protection,
But when you're driving and the window is open still very very enjoyable!

And what about the AC in those small 660 cc Japanese cars how will they work with a 800cc F8B engine?
And do you think you'll need to change the fan or the (blower) in the car as well,?
because it's pretty slow.

And a related question is in my head , can you replace both types of springs ( coil n leaf) with mehrans because mehran is heavier than, fx or is it best use original ones.

yar agar acha ac ka kaam kerne wala hoga to he can do good with new cars. As for blower, usko change ker ne klye poora unit new lagana parega. jugar wala kaam hoga, but i will say stick with the original airbox.

Heat insulation k lye firewall per namda laga hota hai originally, if it is not there then get one and install it. close all holes from where heat is transferred into the car. remove or reduce gaps in doors between pillars and door frames.

everything inside a car matters in terms of heat generation. matts, floor carpet, roof, etc.

This is priceless stuff. Few observations:
* Bumper styles are very different from what we've seen in PKDM and JDM productions.
* The tailgate opens completely.
* Rear seats can be collapsed partially.

So the verdict on the engine is out. Needs a completely new head, clutch set, crank and crank-case, pistons, timing belt assembly and more. The only thing in salvageable condition is the engine block itself.

@nnabeel, @omersiddiqui5482, @capsat and @mir.azam, what are the options from here on?

I am thinking about buying a used engine and then move all the required parts from that to my existing block so that I can keep engine originality. I read the troubles @capsat had to go through in finding a bolt-on replacement. Have things changed over the years? Because, otherwise, a used Mehran carby engine sounds like the only option and I suspect it wouldn't be as cheap as JDMs or other imports.

Bhai the bes place to look for these is shershah. keep in mind that if yo change the block then you might have to get the engine number changed on the papers.

Also a point to be considered it. if you are buying a sealed engine; it should be kept sealed and fitted bolt on not salvaged for parts, another issue is what is the warranty / guarantee that the new engine you buy will be in pristine condition? Parts for the engine are cheap and available take an estimate first for a complete overhaul with genuine parts. FX and Mehran have the same engine there are minor differences like engine mounts on the top etc. and an overhaul properly done can work like a charm. depends upon the skill of the person doing it.

Buying an engine for the parts is not a good idea in my opinion,

I had to take out the engine once to replace some parts you will be surprised that parts are easily available and cheap,
Can't find fx parts use mehrans,they work fine.

You can find all the required parts easily in the markets. as far as i know most parts are similar to the parts used in mehran. Get it repaired properly it will be run fine.

buying an engine for parts will not help because where will you source it? Shershah mai already scraped cars atee hain and fx is a local car so there are chances k the engines are already abused.

Mehran engine will fit but it will be costly. OR if ur mechanic is ready for experiment and have the skills, buy an 660 auto engine and swap it. there are many cars from lhr and pindi who have swapped it in and they look perfect. you can check them out on youtube. even i have seen an ad on bolee.pk selling auto fx in 135000/-. u can call him and check the car just in case
