Yar in PK, we dont receive good grades of cars uptil now. Companies make different grades and makes of cars but we know about them only when they are imported into pakistan.

the only good era was the recondition era where most cars were sent out of pakistan and then they came back with upgraded features. good examples were corollas and the charades.

@nnabeel bhai absolutely right about the reconditioned era. Those Corollas are still working really good, and still have features majority of our local cars dont have....

@nightsurfer if you remember the Taxi scheme alto the yellow one, it cam with a 660 engine which is really esy to fit in FX but it lacks a auto transmission and EFI it is available and is comparatively cheap.

Approx 4 fx were in shershah today...lying there waiting for their turn to be butchered. i went for dashboard and seats there, but sadly, couldn't source any good parts.

Why aren't they available new. i am curious? there are literally 1000s of them on the road why are new interior parts available...

@nnabeel @omersiddiqui5482 agreed. I haven't been able to pay them a visit for the past 3 days. Planning to go there tomorrow and will talk about direction on engine etc. Hoping to see good progress on the body. Let's see.

I am also in favor of repairing the original engine, and if new parts are available like you mentioned, I'd go for it.

the spare parts market at plaza opposite preedy police station suspension shops locate a shop called suzuki house owner name is mohsin he have huge variety of malaysian & after market japanese parts for suzuki models from mid 70's to 90's . he was root supplier to Rawalpindi / Islamabad which had huge FX taxi population till early 90's then the yellow cab took FX out, and FX Taxis moved to AJK Muzaffarabad transporting people between MZFBD & Jehlum

Floors are in.
Roof is on.
Some issues with quality of work and they are fixing things.

ETA for paint prep is six days

Sorry to say the dentar is making u fool. this is going to be a disaster. he is doing a work which is done for dealers to sell the car in ITWAAR BAZAR.

Bhai please check the circled and marked areas. nothing is alligned.

dentar didnt put the roof right. it will be rounded like ball and the paint will never stay on it because the painter will have to fill lots of poly to make it look good.

the doors are badly alligned and after the paint is done, they will rub with the floors and the pillars, the rubber will not set properly, air will get in and when ur car goes on rough roads they will make noise badly/

the rear quarter mudguard needs to be replaced it is available new then replace it.
front fender needs to be alligned or installed properly.

the worst of the work is the roof. check the sheesha and the roundness of roof.

@nnabeel bhai i must say i admire your power of observation..

@nightsurfer dear it wont be ready for paint prep even in two weeks dear, i was about to say some of the things @nnabeel bhai said but then read his comment. A Lot need to be redone on this if you want perfection. I have been through this phase bhai and it is frustrating and believe me when i say this it was due to @nnabeel bhai and @dayrider and other that 90% of the Lines on my car are visible still i say 10% is remaining probably more but i would have missed them. these denters take projects and bus jaan chura yaar paise to aajane hain murgha to phans he gaya hai.

also why isnt the inside of the car brushed off. alot of rust and missed welded joints can be seen in the pic.

The misalignment in doors and fenders is fixed.
Rear mudguards are not available.
The roof is a disappointment and will remain so.
I picked this guy due to close proximity and right now I am only interested in getting the car done.
I am also on a budget so cant redo the stuff already done.

dont give up bhai. you are spending hard earned money asking him to correct it. it is his fault not yours. Worse happened to me bhai atleast parts from your is not being stollen. i had my perfect copper radiator, the whole wiring harness stolen a literal 20000 dent on the budget, i cut that money from the final payment.

Best of luck with the car. check again for alignment for all the panels, doors and fenders and ask your guy for perfection. yes it will be a khuwari and yes your denter will not like it but you car will turn out to be a treat.

Sadly, one has to sit at shops to get perfection which I cant. But yes, he will not go for paint prep without my approval so there will be room for improvement. He is taking an age to get things done. The doors are now aligned properly but they have to tackle the other side now. A lot needs doing and the ETA of 30 days has already elasped.

bhai till the paint is done it will atleast take atleast 45 days more. probably 60 days. The thing is they are not interested in what they are doing they are just doing for the sake of bread. they are absolutely not the case of Love what you do.

manjhai ( scrubbing ) shall be done in long length strokes for straight surfaces for that all doors fenders & foot board aligned and closed as in actually parked vehicle.

Indeed. Most folks in the auto repair industry have a gift of the tongue. They will show you the moon and stars by their talk but when it comes actual work 99% disappoint. However if you have the patents look at the Triumph Herald restoration: https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/t/rebuilding-triumph-herald-63-original-convertible-for-my-son-spitfire/187793/455. I would suggest to see post 455 onward.
Now that is a real artist at work.

these workmen can become a pain in your behind when you want to have desired results..

@msabbasi sir as they say "Baaten Karoron ki Dukan Pakoron ki" is the comcept when you give them the car they make you seen the sun and stars and they are finished with it you see yourself sinking in a Black hole.
