you should be intelligent enough to realize that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Ever seen those rubbish looking nangay bikes on pindi roads? well they look absolutely crap to me but to the people who modified them, "dulhan hai unki". Similarly look at the trucks with those horrid colored stickers all over them but the truck drivers think they're pretty.

What you're referring to is called brand loyalty. And i dont believe in any such thing. I dont side with any company, i'll simply choose a product that offers the best compromise. GS150 suited my needs and i got it, and because i had used a sprinter before and that did not give my any troubles. being a fan of any product makes you vulnerable by the company which will most likely exploit your loyalty (like honda's horrible slogan "main tay honda ee laisan!", and Suzuki saying their rubbish quality GS150 is "road king".

Dear Nadeem Bhaie,

It has been over a month that I have been constantly reading reviews and owner experiences about GS150. No matter how -ve the feedback is, I can not seem to get this bike out of my 41 yr old head. I have been looking for a ride to make short trips within the city and commuting to work (on pleasant days). I am a professional working in the textile sector and lead a busy life style like any other professional thereby not allowing time for frequent workshop visits....I know there are many other forums and heated discussions comparing GS150 wtih CG 125 euro 2 but I need you honest opinion from a single perspective i.e. QUALITY / RELIABILITY. I know both machines can not be bench marked against each other as both belong to a different category when it comes to size, features & engine performance but I need to know if I were to spend 0.1 M of my hard earned money on a 2 wheeler, which option would give me lesser headaches or to correctly put it, heartaches.

Thank you for your very clear and honest opinion about the machine.

I would also like to request all CG users reading this thread to stay calm as my original query to Nadeem bhaie was on his POV on durability between the 2 bikes.

CG lovers are as respectful as GS admirers and vice versa.
This is a very GS specific thread so let it be. I am sorry if I hv sparked an unwanted argument so lets respect each others rides.

@basic bhai, the new GS is here. We are now official Faisalabad GS 150 Homies. Haha.

About the drive, it is quite satisfying except the breaks. Stopping duration is a few seconds longer at around 10 meters when breaking from 60 KM/h.

I guess, that's the basic problem of Pakistani disk breaks. If I break too hard, it skids a little bit. Seems like I'll need a disk break after 6 months and a wider rear tire. Was already in my initial plan, since disk break is very important for me as I consider it a safety feature

Initially was not satisfied with the front brake.

And now its performance is much better after 3000 km.

But no comparison with a "good disk brake system".

IMHO before replacing rear tire please search web and study its good or bad effects.

And altering front brake, consider weight balance and other issues too.

AFAIK, people seem to be reporting better grip with wider rear tire i.e. 100/90 - 18, used on the same rim.

Use bigger leathers for the rear drum, oem ones are simply too thin. Fatter tyre only for peace of mind nothing else. Remember that kawasaki gto came with a 3.00-18 as well, so its not exactly a thin tyre

Sorry for jumping in but i blv the fatter tyre u r suggesting is not recommended on the stock rear rim. Pls refer to the below link for guidance. Changing to a fatter tyre might help increase road traction but will also add more load on the gearbox/engine resulting in higher fuel consumption plus loss of top speed.

I most definitely agree and expect some sort of loss in fuel economy. Wider tires have more rolling resistance than the skinny ones.
But the question is, will hurt the overall performance in a long run since there is a more drag than usual.
@ammarzahid, where do I find the bigger lathers? If it involves, coming up with a desi one myself, then it's a botched hack IMHO (LOL).

Bike's over all performance is fine.
