I recently bought Suzuki GS 150 SE, which I believe has more noise--than it should--in the engine. The bike tops 110β& 115 on slopes. I feel the engine should churn out more power than it is right now. Besides, I feel the engine tends to dip, gurgle when given full throttle.
The most troubling I believe is the howling (the noise) sound from the engine around and at 80 Km/h. The noise persists even beyond 80βat 90, however, I feel, it tends to become muffled because of the engine sound.
My mechanic says the bike needs timing chain replacement, and he is yet to identify the howling problem on the first examination. Is that lame or do I cringe too much? I have returned to a bike after a decade and a half, and, guys, I love it.
I am swept by the range of bike models available in the market. It is simply adrenalizing! Any insights would go a long way; may be a tour up Gilgit.
