Suzuki internal news regarding Wagon-R and Alto

1st 100 units are always imported before locally assembled car rolls out to reach end user,

now this is really interesting , 100 WAGON-R's have been imported , and this is absolutely sure . i am from my side.
now some under under wrap car of your is imported too in 100 units. and you are sure too ...

now the other option i was given was ALTO if they drop the WAGON-R

seems like theres a third options ( yours) as well . lets see , this is getting interesting , as 2 WAGON-R's have already reached my friends-dealership . no announcement regarding display yet .

1. it is for display purposes and booking orders. distributed throughout the dealerships.

2. the cultus engine would cost them 70k more from JAPAN , and after duties would stretch its price beyond the 850k mark , so this is the reason that they dont want to fit a cultus efi engine in the alto.

in every country , automobile sector focuses mainly on hatchback category coz it sell more than any category n specially in s asian countries , n what we`ve got , only mehran n clutus n other one that costs 1.3 million

The statement regarding the hatchback is not true for every country, big examples are USA and canada where sedans like camry,accord,civic and nissan altima are in top and china where sedans like buick excell, VW lavida, VW jetta are at top and australia where sedans like the Mazda3,holden commodore,corolla are at top. Same is true for most of UAE and middle east where sedans sell more.

^ Cost of importing from India is much cheaper then China, That is what we need to understand first.

The by road route is not as easy as we think, secondly India is making very much a like cars, But in China cars are different then that offered in Pakistan. In China FOB is considered to a port, While with India FOB can be arranged as upto Punjab and Sindh borders.

Altho the trade is good it should happen, But still im the favour of localization and Paksuzuki should atleast be given copyrights for manufacturing of Suzuki engines in Pakistan.

instead of expecting something from paksuzuki,. i think competition should be there in our market. automaticall paksuzuki will get all the localizations & copyrights & licenses without any excuses

we already saw the fate of ADAM motors , this industry has reached way too far beyond the point that one can become totally independent in terms of production , and top- notch technology ,

Even china is way far in this department and dependant on europeans and japs for technology , .. localization and that to in pakistan , and that too under these situations is a wishful thinking.

Plus I don't think that paksuzuki has guts to even try to change a model with. New one

no updates , this is not happening anytime soon ,

as the launch of both of these options is dependent upon the forthcoming trade policy with India.

there might be a third option t0o , as Capsat is saying ( which might not be dependent upon Trade policy with India) and maybe you might see it sooner , if it belongs to the higher bracket of price i.e 1200k + .

mean while in lower segment , just wait until some policy is announced , as soon as it is , you will probably see the car in displays around.

i'm going to go with the Alto K-10. let's see what @capsat has to say to this ,if he does.

I dont think it will be Alto K-10 as the K series engine is only available in india right now and trade agreements between Pakistan and India are yet to be finalized.

I think they really need to have model and that too very quickly is alto is discontinued. Furthermore, they are not going to resist it as now all the engines needs to be euro-2 complaint and alto's engiine will not be euro-2 until or unless they fit it with a k10 engine from india.

maybe a k-10 body with a locally available engine is what i'm thinking. don't rule out the D'Zire too but as you say, only if trade eases. let's see what really happens!
