Have you recently overhauled khybers engine? What was the estimate? and What do you think should be the estimate cost?
And can you guide me to any expert dashboard repairer?

I am concerned because normally these marked areas are repaired with epoxy whereas, these areas should be welded properly for longevity of the engine, then resurfaced. Also, does cylinder bore is always resurfaced to 0.5, 0.75, etc., when overhauling the engine?

Yes, I have done several times this Engine rebuilt of Khyber as well as other cars.

Approximately, last time, we overhauled my Brother's Khyber completely in January 2019. Currently I have 1 Khyber but its engine is still OK or atleast not bothering me too much.

My Brother's time, It costed around 50K inclusive of Mechanic and electrician Labor costs. Parts alone almost costed 35,000

Your case is not of just simple welding, in their term they call it shesha/glass (Engine sleeving)

In bore question, Some Pakwheelers have good experience with even 1.0 but frankly speaking, personally in my Khyber cars, never went above than 0.5

There are 2 dashboard repairers famous in Karachi. 1 is in Magazine line just Behined skin hospital but don't know their timings.

2nd one is also near you and also very famous. His shop is near Taleemi Baagh. Contact # is 0345-3400207

I am confused about sleeving part. Isn't engine sleeving something installed in bore to compensate for the wear and tear?

Bhai first thing is check the compression.. may be you don't even require to have the engine rebuilt if it is giving proper compression reading anything above 150 pai will be great.

There is a limit to repair the head and the honing the cylinder. If the block has already be honed multiple times you will have to install a new sleeve in the block with a over size piston most probably .50.

Just have the engine checked first may be just the valve seats are leaking and requires a head job. Should have been done when the gasket was changed last time... Plus you have been using water as coolant...

Senior Pakwheelers found him after long searching years.

Anyways might be different new guy near matric board office. Sir, if you have his contact number or address, please share. There are 2 to 3 Khyber in my mohalla which needs dashboard repairs so I will convince at least 1 of them to repair from there to see the work quality.

No issue bro. We all are here to share and learn. Most of the electricians tried to keep themselves when they used to see my Khyber's cluster meter and other guages wiring but you referred me Mani and he took challenge and sort it out. This way I have learnt a lot too

Maybe that could be the issue. Car is not in running condition because of some wiring problem. confused on how to get compression test and from where because car is not in position to go anywhere.

Bhai, buy yourself a compression test kit.. easy and not much expensive... And available online.. plus it can be used on other cars too. Read how to check compression wet and dry ..

JazakAllah! for the assistance very glad I started the thread.

Rear wheel arches are being fixed nowadays as well as new floor is being welded. Mechanical work will begin InShaAllah once outer body panels are welded together. Probably, in 5-10 days. Also, will visit Plaza for Taiwan Assembled bonut, F-L fender and headlights, tail lights, parking and lights and indicators preferably of Stanley or TYC brand.

Check with Keystone Autos for the body parts... They usually have all Khyber parts...
