Also, please have the front fender and doors removed to check the A pillars on the chassis, those are the achellies heels for a Khyber.. have those treated with an anticorrosive.

Also, ask the denters to smooth the lines properly else there will be a lot of filling...

Which coating do you recommend for inner panels?
Other panels like bottom side of A pillar, behind fender and inside floor will be coated with daammar.

Me and brother have instructed him to use no to as little filler as possible because it will crack overtime. These coatings on the door is temporary to prevent any rust accumulation until other panels are finished. It will be buffed and sanded down before actual primer.

Also, underside of car once ready, will properly be treated and coated with some coating. Not decided the coating yet. Have researched a lot on this topic and found POR15 and fluid film to be the best, but they are expensive and rare in Pakistan.

Get the underside of the car treated for rust and weld where there are any holes. I had my khyber dented and painted and the underside was neglected. Now after 6 years the floors are again rusty. So fill in the holes if any and get the underside treated as well, otherwise just like this the floors for my khyber were installed and it wasn't good enough.

See the hole in this pic, get these sorted out, have them clear all the rust from underneath and then go for the anti rust/corrosion coating.

I agree with you 100%. I will let the denter know. It is not completely done few places of the same floor are only tack welded. My brother and Myself, have a very keen eye on these matters because of the previous experiences.

Do you know what its called? Is it rubberized coating?

it is epoxy and after 2 hours of treatment over metal it has elasticity of rubber, if your try to scrap.

I have heard very negative reviews of 3M rubberized undercoating on the internet that it crack and traps moisture which leads to even more rusting. What are your thoughts on it? Do not have any information about the berger one? Does that have the same characteristics?

for interior floor it is best.
for under carriage coating you can use industrial grade anti rust paint.

being a user of such material i never faced any issue as such mentioned by you. Honestly am more into practical test then hearsay .. he said they said i heard it somebody said that etc etc,

Can you provide specific name for the anti-rust paint for under carriage?

if you pay a visit to an industrial area and ask for a lubricant / paint shop you will find huge variety of such material.

The Anti rust paint i use was a bucket of 4 gallons, i paid 12000 for it marked H-X63 Nippon Paint Japan, it was from some ships' store which got scrapped at Gidani.

There is also a shop behind Habib Bank / NADRA Office at SITE Karachi Opposite DC WEST Office. make an inquiry in the area and buy the product suitable to your pocket.

@Xulfiqar has explained multiple times over past decade how to remove rust from vehicle when restoration is planned. Please use search glass option on top right next to your ID and Burger button. use of bee wax to seal the slits etc etc to prevent corrosion later.

He said that he will close that area and weld it to make it flat so the water can better flow from there. I am not a huge fan of that idea but denter also said it is the most common area in Khyber for rust formation because of that air intake.

Yup. I already read his recipe about bee-wax, mineral oil and kerosene oil. will spray as soon as restoration is finished.
The main aim is to get rid of all rust because it is like human cancer. Will try my best to find POR15 as he mentioned it and also seen many positive review of the product.

your denter is a crackhead.

any car needs fresh air intake for the cabin. The wiper tray area needs to be rebuilt because while people spend thousands of rupees on car washing at a service station, they spend zero rupees in cleaning this area and also door cavities and other drains.

by not cleaning out dirt, debris from here water gets stuck and slowly rusts the area. If you keep up with cleaning it, which is nothing more than vacuuming it or even blowing it clean with compressed air - it wont ever rust.

This area also needs to be sprayed with a generous coat of cavity wax every 10 years or so (just like the factory did), it already has channels for water to flow to the side drains which end behind the mudguard apron (sheet metal mudguard in desi lingo). Its a very old design and Im quite surprised that your repairman is not versed with it.

Have the car throughout inspected for rustbis the first thing I would do... Suzuki or should I say any Pakistani manufacturer gives zero to rust proofing...

Coating the car underside is a process... It is not just applied on with a paint brush... It involves cleaning the cars or preparing the surface masking off rubber bits etc... Check youtube you will understand what I am talking about... I did that with Lancer like In 2018, still holding up pretty well Allah ka shukar... Used ICI..

I had a subaru a couple of years ago, the car was in tatus but zero rust... Literally chunks of was in spots by factory
