Recently I adjusted petrol and race setting and drove to home. After 2 days when I went to start car it was not starting and started after a push. I went to mechanic, he re-adjusted the setting and told that alternator bearing is making noise and needs to be replaced but still car was not starting quickly. I then checked the battery voltage, turns out battery was discharged to 12.3V whereas it should have been at 13.6V-14.2V.
Upon further inspection with voltmeter I noticed that battery was charging slowly on idle but as soon as any load was put on car like ac, headlight on high beam and wipers, the battery started discharging on idle.
The problem did not occur in break-in period because AC was not used and usually I went for long ride like 110-120km.
Please suggest would bearing change will solve the problem or would I have to buy new alternator or are kabli ones are better?
