Suzuki Khyber - engine oil level decreasing

Hello Friends,
I have Suzuki Khyber 97. I normally check the engine oil level weekly. I have been observing for few months that the engine oil level decreases with time. Last time when I went for oil change, the oil level had been reached below the recommended point. After oil change I am again observing that oil level is decreasing slowly and continously and it seems that it will reach below the recommended point in cuple of weeks. On average I drive the car 120-150 KM weekly on CNG. I consulted my mechanic and he said that the rings has been weaken but I can continue to drive car by making sure oil level does not decrease the recommended level. Please suggest me what should I do? should I continue to drive the car or get the rings changed or ???

yes u can but again u have to pay the prize for extra oil u using in car...

cuz any time u forgot and u will be going into serious trouble and even more costly work

if u want to keep ur car for a longer period go for complete engine rebuild
or if u want to sale ur car in near future go for new ring ... up to u

No plans to sale car in near future. Is complete engine re-build really required to solve the mentioned problem. In other words, is the problem so serious and there is no way to avoid engine re-build?

je ... it happened with my corola ... diesel upar se khati bhe buhat hai oil ... n engine oil roz kam ho jata tha now its fine after engine rebuild ...

n my uncle had mehran usska bhe yehi masla tha ... it ate oil ... daily ...

app check kerva leyn kissi mechanic se he will help u better ...

u want to keep ur car with u

only ring work can solve ur problem but only for some months or 1 year i guess.. up to ur driving style and maintenance..

whereas complete engine rebulit can solve ur problem along with some power increase and good fuel economy ...

always put genuine suzuki parts what ever u do .. otherwise u will regret soon

I totally agree on using genuine parts. When you say re-build the engine then it means that this engine oil burning problem is also due to other things and not only with rings. If it is only due to rings and car has no other issue then why to go for complete re-build. Please explain?

its better if u c if there z ne leakage of oil from the engine.. check that downunder... if that is the problem then it would take minor repairs to header sealings... make sure u take ur car to an honest mechanic coz they tell something and repair something..

bhai .. rings ka masla ho sakta hay ...
piston ka bore katta huaa ho sakta hay ...
as i didnt see ur car so cant tell u anything

rings daalnay say oil khana khatam hojaae gee car .. but its not a perminant salution.... within a year same problem will be faced by you ...

to insert rings ... mechanic will clean piston, head etc .. engine decarbonize hojae gaa ...which can create smoke in future from ur exhaust ..

and yes did u check leakage??? may be some minor leakage ??
what is ur car actual millage ?? did u change ur engine oil regularly ??

consult 2/3 mechanics may be only rings can do ur work ...

I always go to same mechanic and as far as I know he is good and honest. Also I always get all things done in my presence. There is no leak for sure as I have never seen a single drop of oil in my garage or around the engine. A few months back the timing belt and water body was changed but I see no link of it with the issue. The car is driven about 88000 KM. I always change the engine oil after driving 3000 KM and have never missed. I always get Caltex Havoline engine oil.

What does this mean, and why one should use different oil for old and new cars? Can you please tell me more detail about the oil I should use in my car?

bhai tension nahi karoo ... engine rebuild karnay say aap ki car ki value kam nahi hogee ... aur car tension free chalay geee... khyber engine is very easy to rebuild ... i also own khyber about 5 years ago and rebuild complete engine as well .. no issue .. i donno how much will is cost u these days ...

i think 15 to 17 thousand mai rebuild hojae gaa ... hope ur clutch plate/pressure plate is OK... if not change these as well ..
as u want to keep ur car with u do some kharchaa on it and tension free for 4 to 5 years (engine point of view)

where u live in karachi ... if u lacks in info and experience i can help u out ... but hope u live near to my house otherwise sorry ...

and yes if u r going for engine rebuild do check the body if u find any rust or weakness in body do clear that as well ... and yes along with engine parts ... buy all seals/packing/silicon of good quality ...

if you don't want to rebuild engine so urgent then you can use thick oil for some time. e.g diesel engine oil or after changing oil you can put a container of oil treatment in it.

first of all check ur gaskit
how : find if ur water gets oily
2: check if block aint leaking out , check all screw , rubbers(not actually rubber)every kits used for selaing engine for sealing ,
is ur car giving smoke??
if every thing is ok , then their may be problem of piston rings
