Suzuki Khyber in 2019

I just bought a Suzuki Khyber 1999 model. When I was searching for a ride for myself, I came to know few things about Khyber.
It's more powerful than Suzuki mehran.
It's has more road grip than Suzuki cultus.
It's more fuel economic than Suzuki wagon-R.
It's more durable than most new models in body.
There is on price difference in parts.
There is no difficulty in parts availability.
There is no difficulty in mechanic availability for Suzuki Khyber.
Suzuki Khyber is more comfortable than Suzuki mehran on long routs.
There is no big fuel economy difference than Suzuki mehran in city drive.

Now I'm feeling few problems in my choice.
Main problem is body parts availability. It's body parts are not easily available as mehran/cultus does.
Body parts prices are much much higher than Suzuki mehran or Suzuki cultus.
No doubt Suzuki Khyber was an excellent creation of all time even in current time. Purpose of my this thread is to combine Suzuki Khyber owners to sort out our problems in 2019.

Bhai any part you need specially the body parts are easily available at Plaza Karachi. It is an old car production was stopped 20 years ago it will have parts scarcity but they are available, cost a bit more than usual for a Suzuki but hey are available... The only thing not available is the stupid head light cluster...

And yes it is a rather better car.. and if properly kept works great... I have one too works fine no issues at all just regular maintenance.

I agree with everything that you said except that parts aren't available. Just like @omersiddiqui5482 mentioned, parts can be found in abundance in karachi. Not as cheap as mehran but I believe cheaper than cultus.
One more thing you missed out, in my opinion khyber and fx are the most beautiful cars that have some sort of 'character' to them in pakistan by suzuki. Try to add insulation in your doors, roof and floor, your khyber will turn into a quiet luxury car with exceptional a.c. performance.

You are right. I had in my mind to mention it's particular grace in performance as well as appearance. No doubt it's comparatively great car even in current time if maintained properly.

Yeah. You are right, despite of discontinued 20 years ago, mostly parts are still available although not easily and with little extra price but still it's a car still performing today.
I'm against any modification in Khyber stock but there are still few changes can be made to fulfill our requirements.
Khyber dashboard assembly is very rare to find I think. Some foreign models of Suzuki Khyber had stick assembly that can be used in Pakistan made Khyber. I'm attaching pic here. I haven't had chance to use it but if you ever find this opportunity then do share the experience.

Can anyone find these stickers or buttons from Karachi. Here is the address.

Brother these are available in Plaza Market on MA Jinnah Road, Karachi.

There used to be a pedestrian bridge which is now removed. if you have been there previously and remember the location of the that pedestrian bridge, just enter the corridor opposite to where the stairs of pedestrian bridge used to start. Check with body parts shop and stickers shop there you will find it.

I would prefer the stock configuration though. There Stick indicator / light stock came with Pontiac Model Called the Firefly i guess. I have seen Older swifts from the 80s and all the 90s Khyber have this Button cluster. 95% of the parts are available. either in New or Kabli condition.

currently i am working on khyber 1997 (DIY), purchased in january 2019 in dump condition.

the only difficult part i found during restoration to factory, is budget and time.
if you have both then you can restore it default within 2 to 3 months max.

shocker n coil complete set japanese alto ka dul jata h bolt to bolt fit, cost you around 2500/- only

mean while new shoker is around 6k n coil is around 1.6k.

Bhai this a Subaru justy j10 1986 cluster. I have kept this car. It is a really enjoyable nightmare...

These button will never fit in a Khyber even if you find chance of which a 0%

May be the car you saw had Khyber head lamps and radiator grills etc but it is a Subaru it is a completely different thing. It has Hitachi electronics which makes it impossible to work on in Pakistan since stupid electrician can't understand it.

@omersiddiqui5482 thank you. I was also confused as it's shape was similar to Khyber or this interior was fitted in Khyber. Although I got some better ideas for seating cover and interior for my Khyber. And also again I've to focus on just Suzuki Khyber parts instead to finding alternate parts for my ride.
