I respect what people want in Pakistan . Its everyones right to satisfy their wants within limits. All automotive products are designed to full fill different needs. I blame the marketing team at suzuki for the fate of liana. Every 5-6 year onwards they introduce a subbrand in their product line for the 1.3 and 1.6. Now heres the part where you have create a trust in the consumer. Civic , City , Corolla etc are names which have embraced our lives for quite some time hence no introduction required. In case of Suzuki , quite a few points need to be pondered upon e.g will a baleno or liana meet the expectations and challanges of the market? If liana was sold as Baleno, it would have earned more trust in the consumer. Having said that i would also point out that a brand new Liana is not a good deal. The price tag is around 12-15 lack according to the trim if im not wrong. Heres the part where you have to consider other options for various reasons.(am trying not to write a book here)
When it comes to used vehicals, Lianas offer the best value propositions. The main challanges in Karachi include , traffic jams , poor road conditions, car snatching and reliability. Other factors for a good car include aftersales support, availibility of parts and lastly a good resale value. Lianas give you a decent feul average provided you stay within the city limits of 60 , a comfortable well designed cabin, well equiped features and creature comfort ammenities. Then comes the security part where ive mentioned quite a few times before , carjackers hate this car so you dont have to worry about car jacking and insurance (another saving). After sales and parts are all available at 3s dealers. You have to be cautious about selection of the right 3s dealer. Best part is the price of a used liana which starts from 550 lack to 750 lack , models ranging from 2006-2008 in karachi depending on trim and condition. No other car with similiar features comes even close. Local Lianas came out in 2006 at a base price of 780 lacks for rxi , well equipped base model. If they are really well kept they can fetch around 650 lacks as well. This is a price drop of 1 lack 30k. Not bad considering a car where u dont require insurance, high on efficiency and overall decent vehical.As far as Hids and other bells n whistles are concerened, the same can be added to a liana and make it slick.
Camrys , accords and the likes were always far more expensive and a class way above the corolla and civic offering. Lianas can compete with cities though SX4 should be launched which lys somewhere between a city and civic.
Pakistan is going through a tough time , since this is not a political forum we wont discuss in detail. Unfortunately every factor hits the other which includes the so called prices of cars in Pakistan. You are a young gentleman 23 years of age with a long way to go INSHALLAH. You seem well balanced and intelligent. I would recommend you move out to middle east or USA to really enjoy your car endevour since its getting difficult by the day to meet your needs let alone your wants. If you can still manage , then nothing like having it all while staying in your homeland.
