Suzuki LJ-10

Hi,
Need help with something. I've gotta 1970s Suzuki LJ10 (or maybe LJ20) in Pakistan, as most of you probably already know, it's not powerful at all, i think it's 360cc 2 stroke. I am going to Pakistan soon and wanna replace the engine. Since the space is not big enough to put a very powerful engine, I was thinking of putting a Potohar Engine in it, or maybe Alto or something similar. What do you guys think? and How much is it gonna cost me? Where should I get it from?

The potohar F10A is a very lousy engine. Anyway it may turn so big it won't fit.

There's a myriad of 660cc cars from Japan right now. May be you can fit a Suzuki K6A on the same tranny?

Or get the whole setup from a Terios or Pajero Mini (I don't know if their parts are starting to turn up in kabari markets).

Do you wish to sell the jeep?

Whats a K6A?

Alto and Potohar share the same F10A engine. Gearbox is different, though.

K6A is the 660cc EFI engine found in the Japanese (imported) Alto. It produces 54 hp. (Don't remember where I got the figure). In comparison the 1000cc F10A produces 45 hp (!) despite having greater tax etc. The 800cc F8B found in Mehran, Ravi and Bolan produces 34 hp.

The K-series and M-series are quite good, IMHO. Where are the experts?

sir i have driven Lj80 white one (1st picture) with a 1000cc potohar engine it was a beauty in driving altough the original engine is a 800cc.
you can also put a 1c or 2c engine in it told by a mechanic in mirpurkhaas (suzuki specialist). and the Lj 80 i have driven was his own.
can u tell me where in pakistan you are going to land.

Nice to know that you got an LJ series Suzuki Jeep. It's a beauty on road when maintained properly. I've been doing some research on Suzuki SUV straight roof models including LJ and SJ series. I also bought a Suzuki SJ410 1989 model from a military auction last month. I've yet to collect it from the site due to some bureaucratic procedure. I hope to build it according to my plan.

lists power as 55ps @5500rpm.

and enter 55ps, you get 54.225779155515 hp. So yes I was wrong quoting it as 45 hp.

But if you look here

The K6A has 54ps @6500 rpm. Which means 53.239855898142004 hp.

So IMHO the 660cc is better? (Torque will be less though, but I don't think there'll be big drive style change in both, b/c really big engines have the torque to pull away in all gears).

I had installed 1c 1800cc diesal in LJ20, it was working perfectly with a greater fuel efficiency and performance. It has enough space to install larger engines like alto and potohar or some like diesal ones 1n, 1c or 2c.
