The Suzuki Mehran is a small car manufactured and marketed by Suzuki in Pakistan. It is generally a rebadged first generation Suzuki Alto.
The car generally lacks essential features which are standard in other cars, such as rear windshield defogger and rear seat belts. As of 2009, the Pakistani-made Suzuki Mehran is one of the few cars in the world which still uses a carburetor-based engine.
However, despite all the shortcomings and serious quality criticisms, the Suzuki Mehran is Pakistan's highest selling car due to the lack of alternatives available owing to the monopolistic nature of Pakistan's auto industry and restrictions imposed on imports by the Government of Pakistan.
