A.O.A members,
I recently sold my Alto 2012 model due to bad average and a noisy car. I am in need of car for my home to office drive use. Distance from one side is 50KMs so in total 100KMs.
I want a car that is fuel efficient and have good AC performance. Due to budget constraints, I don?t want to purchase a new car but a used car is my best option. I am having two options in my mind,
- Suzuki Mehran,
- Suzuki Khyber.
I intend to purchase a ruli howi car and then will go for engine swap with some modern engines. So I have Mehran EFI and Cultus EFI engines in my mind. I am sure that Mehran EFI is giving 20+ average per liter while I have controversial opinions about Cultus EFI engine. I read on Pakwheel that Cultus is giving just 16KM/Litre on long route while at some posts, it was claimed that Cultus gives 20+ average per litre.
On the other hand I want comfort, good AC performance and wide cabin which is available in Suzuki Khyber but I have to compromise on fuel average.
Please guide me which car I shall buy?
Will engine swap in Khyber give me a good fuel average?
How is Mehrans? AC performance?
After proper restoration of Khyber, I will have a good car which would have wide cabin, comfortable seats. But restoration will be a tough task as all parts are not easily available specially the Dash Board and its accessories.
While restoration of a used Mehran will be an easy task and each and every thing will be bolt on fit. Mehran would not require too cost and hard work like Khyber.
Please share your ideas.
