Suzuki Mehran VXR EFI radiator fan

Assalam.o.Alaikum PW members.
This is my very first post on PW. I have been reading many a times on this forum to enlighten myself with the valuable information and tips for my mehran vx 2011.

Yesterday, I have bought Suzuki Mehran VXR EFi which was 20 KMs driven at the time of delivery.
But when I drove it home even with AC turned off, I realized that the radiator fan automatically started working when the temperature needle was one-quarter rather than half way through on the temperature gauge.

One of my friends has got the same VXR EFi . He told me that his radiator fan starts as soon as he switches on the engine and keeps running when he starts the engine and goes on and off on its own sometimes on the way.

Both cars are VXR EFi and no modifications have been done on engine or radiator fan.

This is unusual for me as it is not the same way with my carburator mehran vx (after-market A\C installed with automatic fan and temperature valve removed. Radiator fan in this mehran only turns on when temp gauge needle reaches exactly half and maintains temp. at half).

i thought EFI Mehran was launched in mid 2012!

yes, it is launched in mid-2012. What I was telling is that I have got two mehrans. One with carburator and the other is EFi.

My point is that the radiator fan of my VXR EFi should start when the temp. needle reaches half on the temp. gauge NOT as soon as it reaches quarter.
I am unable to understand this behavior of automatic radiator fan because the normal working temp. is when the temp. half-way through..

Plz some1 explain...

my mehran efi fan turns on at about less than half of meter needle.

@HAXIK! I can very well understand your feelings...these small issues does pinch a lot. Well I would say get it checked with the Suzuki dealer who sold the car. A very good example of quality control of Suzuki is your friends car....so better get it check, the gauge might be faulty. I think it should turn on just a little above the half point.
Or maybe I am wrong this ALL NEW EFI engine developed by Pak Suzuki might be more high tech

your fan switch under radiator which senses water temperature is faulty. get it new.

same thing with my alto 2007.after quater(needle) fan starts. one day my car get heats up stop the car and see fan is not turning on.i make direct connection .take fan switch and went to shop.there the most exciting thing happened.shop wala told me that genuine one used in alto cost me 150rs and denso switch cost me 800rs. i take denso one and install it. from that day my fan only starts when needle comes to middle.

i bought mehran euro 2 vxr 8 days back...my car radiator fan also starts when needle is in half quater.this is normal and usefull in one sense .now we dont need it make direct connection....pak suzuki done this i talkd to customer services.usuaslly people make direct connection of radiator fan to cool down car but now suzuki make it easy for us to keep car cool...even today i was driving it in rain nd radiator fan startd many times.

understand bhaiya so there is no need to worry about it now drive car without having look at temperature guage...

You are getting worried because you have just spent some considerable money... but 4 all those free mashwara experts! U guys are amusing...

Bro, nothing wrong with ur car! The NORMAL OR OPTIMUM WORKING TEMP of your car is shown when ur temp gauge is at 40% till then ur car doesn't need any fan, but above that the fan should start to work. And ur temp needle should stay at 40-45%

If the needle goes beyond that then get it inspected at immediately

well, I guess PS have changed the temp setting in this new EFi system...

The fan should kick in when the needle is bit down from half mark, the quarter seems that your car switch is faulty.. secondly they won't change the switch before properly checking and i know how much qualified they are.. if they think its faulty which they won't,then they will say sir switch abhi ha nahi , you come next week lol .. the new cars have no quality over here.

well, guys I visited an authorized dealer workshop today.. They showed me another EFi VXR which was 800 KMs driven.
Its radiator fan was also starting on one-fourth of the temp. gauge. Thus, it is concluded that they have themselves changed the temp settings.

But guys, what I wonder now is that won't it reduce the engine life if the working temp of engine has been reduced to one-fourth by P.S because carburetor mehran used to have its working temp. as half mark on the temp. gauge.....!

some things are standard in all world for temperature gauges. 1- at cold engine needle is just below c. 2- during engine operation needle stays at middle and cooling system works in such a way that exact optimal temperature is maintained and needle does not move from middle. 3- needle going up from middle means there is over heating. 4- needle below middle means engine is operating below optimal temperature.

solution is check temperature of engine when fan kicks on.if less then 82degree replace fan switch rated 82degree

but he got OK report from pak suzuki. its bad if suzuki changed standard settings. and worse if new car has faulty parts.
