Suzuki Sprinter / Raider Carburetor Information require

Dear Experts,

I want to confirm the following regarding carb of Suzuki Sprinter / Raider 110 (Mikuni BS22)

Mixture screw located on the carb is a Air Mixture screw or Volume Mixture screw?

Please confirm if anybody knows its setting.

What I know the Normal Cabs like Honda CD-70 or CG 125 carbs have an Air Mixture Screw.

Volume mixture screw (the screw on the magnet cover side). Unlike CD-70 / CG-125, the screw is located near to pipe instead of air filter. If you open this screw, petrol will be richer.

Yes it will work in opposite way as in case of CD-70 and or CG125.

Bhai koyi bhi carb ho us ka mixture clock wise rotate karney sey lean ho ga aur abti clock wise rich ho ga aur idle screw is key opposite work karta hai

Bro as Mohsin said, clockwise the fuel mixture will be lean which is opposite in the case of 70/125 carb.

You also asked about the default position,

I am not a mechanic but I have asked different Suzuki bikes specialist mechanics (working in Suzuki). And I also personally experienced this and getting optimal results.

I tune my bike carb the following way,

1. Turn the volume mixture screw clockwise to its full mean full tight (aram sa tight kerna ziada force nahi lagana paray ge)

2. Now make 6 turns anticlockwise. By 01 turn (north will be at south position or you can say aadhi chori) I mean the following as shown in the following image. 6 to 7 such turns gives me best optimal results in GS and Sprinter both. I am use to get ligther ride with top speed around 100 - 105 (Sprinter) and fuel economy (Sprinter) of 68 + km/liter on avg speed of 65km/h.

Abdul Rehman Brother i have learnt one turn is complete 360 degree turn
what you are saying i consider it half turn in my terms i have understood for mixture settings

Brother can you guide from your search what it means when its said one turn clockwise or anti clockwise
is it the complete 360 degree turn or its north to south like you have mentioned

and Yes no doubt the performance you are getting from your bike definitely you have found the perfect mixture settings

Yes it is half turn that is 180 degree. I always have this confusion that's why I use to put image also

My cousin owns GS-150 and he was also complaining about the heavy ride and bad fuel economy. I did no rocket science but tuned the carb the above way (provided others areas are also tuned especially the tappets).

And now he is more than happy, little reduction in the top speed for him like he used to get 115 - 120 on odometer but fuel economy of 32 - 35km/h. Now he is getting much much lighter ride with top speed of 110 (without any ragra) and fuel economy of 50 km/liter with average speed of 70 - 75km/h.

as you could have just told me figures i would have set the mixture to those settings

and Yes the real fun of driving bike when its tappets are set fine and mixture also
than you really roll on road and bike feels very smooth

I will ask my mechanic who has great on hand experience with 70s and 125s and inform you.

Abdul Rehman i have checked air mixture settings of two brand new CD70's
One mine i had bought in 2014 and 2nd recently of my friend sticker 2015

2014 CD70 mixture was = 1.40 turns
2015 CD70 mixture was = 2.25 turns

as i bought cg dream used so could not check its air mixture settings
and its air mixture screw is difficult to access

at the moment my bikes runs smooth during first tune up mechanics ruined
its settings he had opened air mixture way too open i was listening tha tha sound
from muffler and bike was heating up. Thank God he was able adjust settings better
in 2nd attempt and its running smooth

NO!!! The Air screw and Fuel screw work opposite for rich/lean mixture.

Air screw: Turn clockwise to decrease amount of air in mixture - Result: Rich mixture.
Air screw: Turn anti-clockwise to increase amount of air in mixture - Result: Lean mixture.

Fuel screw: Turn clockwise to decrease amount of Fuel in mixture - Result: Lean mixture.
Fuel screw: Turn anti-clockwise to increase amount of Fuel in mixture - Result: Rich mixture.

NO!!! The Air screw and Fuel screw work opposite for rich/lean mixture.

Air screw: Turn clockwise to decrease amount of air in mixture - Result: Rich mixture.
Air screw: Turn anti-clockwise to increase amount of air in mixture - Result: Lean mixture.

Fuel screw: Turn clockwise to decrease amount of Fuel in mixture - Result: Lean mixture.

Learnt from this
IN CD 70 or 125 the mixture screw in AIR SCREW. (means control air flow)

In case of Suzuki 110, 0r 150 the mixture on carb is Fuel screw. (means control petrol) (called volume mixture)
