Suzuki sprinter white smoke problem

My bike is giving white smoke and consuming too much oil, needs oil change in like 300 Kms.

My mechanic said it is due the piston rings. So, he gave me an estimate of almost 4000 rupees for replacing piston rings, valves, valve seals, gaskets and timing chain.

So, my question is, is 4000 rupees is justable for that?

4000 is not good enough if you will be going for all genuine stuff. With Made in China 4000 is more than enough.

With genuine rings n piston, valves, guides including all the labour it will cost near 6000-6500.

Piston Rings (rings only) 850

Something he was calling "Chain patti" 150

Also, he was claiming that these are the genuine parts prices.

Labour cost is very lenient. Only rings that means current piston is still good to be fit. Best of luck.

Thanks for your reply. But I have another question, last time I got my engine fully repaired 2.5 years ago (actually my engine got seized that time). So, the question is, isn't it too early that this problem rises again?

Yup 2.5 years is too early especially for engine like of Sprinter. Was the mechanic same at that time I mean 2.5 years ago. If yes I would say better change your mechanic.

Always there are two most common reasons, either engine re-build was not up to the mark or the oil is of bad quality.

The mechanic is same, he is also saying that you are not using good quality oil. I use havoline 20w40. But I think I know it is due to my fault, actually, I haven't changed my oil filter in this period of 2.5 years.

It could also be due to Fake oil.
Specially fake havoline is available in abundance in market's.
Try switching to Total 20W-40 this time that oil is also good just get it from some reputable total petrol pump.

No offence but as per my experience twice or thrice, this Havoline oil is useless. It is only good for 500kms,no matter you buy it directly from the company outlet. I would recommend you Shell AX5 20W-40 yellow bottle, Sprinter loves this oil. As I also own Sprinter and currently I am using this oil and sticking to this oil after various experiments.

I was using LM 10W-40 before but it is no more affordable now as price reaches 1200 from 750.

Bro always try to use best quality engine oil & never use any oil more than 1000km & all mineral oils including havoline does not last more than 700 or 800km next time so be careful

This time use synthetic oil for your bike as i am using zic X5 20W50 synthetic oil in my suzuki & found it thousand times better than any mineral oil my bike has clocked 20k+ on this oil Alhamdolilah still going so strong

hami bhai yeh jo synthic oil hay wo man nay sona hay k istemal kro to phir dosra aaam oil jo hota hay wo istemal nhi kar sktay oc say ingin khrab ho jata hay. kia yeh bat sch hay? ya phir acy he batin bne hoi hay?
