Assalam-O-Alaikum
I have Suzuki stingray model 2012 and imported by myself in
2015, at the time of import it was 28K driven and now it has been driven 100K
in total. It remained trouble free for last five years and I keep recommending
every friend and relative to purchase JDM, anyway one month ago when I was
travelling on motorway alone at speed of 100-110 km with AC on, the AC stopped
working, I kept travelling and after about 10KMs, the car showed heatup sign, I
slowed down and kept travelling, the heat sign vanished, but car starting
heating up again if I accelerate to 100 KMs, so I kept travelling at 70km/hr.
Anyway in city driving it does not heat up, yesterday I travelled on motorway and
it heated up again rather the heat sign kept blinking, I pulled up the car on
roadside, opened radiator cap slowly and it blew up in air, all water came out,
one of the mechanic on motorway suspected that its gasket has been blown,
anyway I filled water again in radiator and drove almost 200KMs with slow speed
(70 KMs / hr) and AC off. Kept checking water level after every 50KMs. Today
contacted a mechanic in Islamabad on phone, he advised to change the engine
instead of gasket repairing. Please advise what to do now, I think first I have
to figure out the heating issue and then go towards gasket problem, I think in Islamabad
or Rawalpindi nobody has gasket testing kit (chemical which changes colour due
to combustion gases). Need your expert and valuable opinion. Regards. Kamran
