Not so far but yes till 15 kmpl I have achieved,. We are still in the mileage delima...almost all cars give this kind of mileage as our fuel quality is not up to mark

The fuel average on 03 May was on motorway with constant speed of 130 and few stretches with 165 and 170. Last fill on same day was from PSO and I doubt it's quality

Smthng worth sharing...i used the windscreen shower/spray for the very first time today on my new swift, it didnt work, cud hear the motor sound, and water was dripping undr car too, so thot the pipes were not connexted and took it to dealership, mechanic removed the sheet from under side of the hud, and the pipe wasny connected to one nozzle, but the second one had no pipe at all :s, and mech side "is mien tou lagta hai cmpany walay lagana he bhool gai hain", i told em to install da pipe, and dey said 40 rupees dedien, pipe le aien, when asked abt warramty, he said these things arent in warranty, plus 40 rupees is nothing :p, i paid the money, got the pipe fitted, and left...humans do make mistakes, but thats why ders warranty, hav been thnkin, wt if one has a serious issue, and he/she needs to go thru claiming warranty, how tough wud it be, cuz the car was missing smthng which it shud hav had, but asking me to pay for it was a pretty pathetic geasture :l

Here's my story...

If any one of you remember, I was the one who once said that Swift gives me a bad mileage.
Last weekend, I planned to take it out of city for like a longer route to Gujranwala from Lahore and back and was shocked to see the results.
All driving was done through motorway and GT Road with a total of 3 people in the car. On a total journey of 177.3kms, my car comsumed about 10.89 litres of petrol. And here comes the best part, mileage as calculated by me came to be 16.28km/l. Damn, I never got that in city driving. All was done with AC turned ON. Really happy with that. There was like a tiny but of race in there too where I had to do 180km/h to beat the **** out of the Corolla.

In city the best was like 13-14km/l cant remember enough. And I restored my cellphone and that Gas Cubby app got removed. I'll download it again, best and simple app it is.

There is no restriction on the top speed, I mean its not locked as other JDM Honda Accords. And you have a well working speedometer so it works fine, no fake stuff in there. And lastly, 180km/h isnt the limit. It crosses 180km/h.
Talking about high rpm acceleration ****, there is no problem and no one in the whole thread felt that. Acceleration is greater on high rpms as it should be. I end this fake rumour about high rpm acceleration here.

9.8 Km/L all in Lahore city with heavy traffic, AC always ON and total five passengers

15 km/L on motorway back to home from Lahore. Total 5 passengers. AC always ON. 160 touched for a while. 20 minutes speed between 130-140 km/h. About 1 hour 20 minutes on 110-120.

Problems being faced by Suzuki Swift

Hello All,

I am experiencing the following two problems with my swift (driven 50k):

The fuel economy is really low (reserve light kicks in at 330 Kms )
I have already done the the following but it has made no difference

• Changed plugs
• Changed air & oil filters
• Suzuki scan tool to find out any issues (none found - everything is okay on the scanner)
• Tire pressure is also correct (33 Front / 30 Rear )

Any suggestions ?? what seems to be the problem here ?? checked the car out from two different places they cannot find the problem

Second issue : the brake makes squealing noises when the brake is pressed the breaks have been serviced and new genuine pads have been installed but the noise did not go away. Is there something wrong with the disc ?

Replaced engine oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin(AC) filter. Got wheels balanced and alligned. Radiator grill washed/rinsed thoroughly with water at high pressure after opening bumper. Spark Plugs serviced. All that did make the difference.
And this time I used Shell's Engine Oil, before that I used to put in Suzuki's own Engine Oil. This one feels better to me. Idk, experts know better, I just giving my view on this. My car feels alot better now. Try all of that, something would have a magical effect

And about the brakes issue, I guess its normal. According to what I read before, its due to dust particles between the pads and the discs. And I guess that there sure is abit of sound in the beginning when you replace the brake pads as they have to adjust according to you car's brake discs.

I hope I wrote it well. Experts, correct me if I wrote anything wrong anywhere.

I second that, shell is a good oil I have no doubts. Using it for last six years n never faced a single problem. Currently using shell ultra and changing it at 10000kms n no problem. Odo currently at 29000

Contact Suzuki company directly from their website and make a complaint, yes quality control is an issue but the company should be notified about any such matter directly. I doubt you dealership will ever tell Suzuki HQ about your problem.

Thanks for your reply. The noise has been coming for some time now I thought if I would change the brake pads it would go away but it is still there. For the other things you mention I use Mobil 1 or Zic oil and change regularly on time with genuine filter, Air filter has also been replaced on time but that didn't make any difference. I think I will try the cleaning the radiator by opening it up the front grill as well. One other thing that came to my mind is could a choked fuel filter be the cause ?

Change your filling station.

Thanks the car is usually refueled at Caltex F-6 which has a reputation for being a reliable pump but I think I will try another petrol station as well. Any suggestions on a good one in Isb ?
