Hardly 45 km in 4 days so far on current oil and may do another 500 to 600 km on the same due to lock down till 17th or 21st April. Then thinking of planning to change to 5W30 again IA. What are the effects if I run more
Oh so you changed the oil recently and used 10w40. Ok keep using it and just switch back to 5w30 fully synthetic when your next oil change is due.
Yes... Actually this oil chart and marketing is a bag full of confusion. Thanks for a quick feedback and comment...
I have been using Zic X9 5w-40 since around 6.5yrs but this time I have shifted to shell ulta 5w-40And also bought caltex pro ds 5w-40 for next time IA
As per manual you must use 10w40.
So consider both values. 10w for winter and 40 summer
IMO 5w40 is best option as it covers both ranges.
5w30 may be good for winter but for summer 30 is less than 40
10w is not for winter. The first number in the oil grade specifies the viscosity at ambient temperature. A 5w oil will flow much better at the time of engine start up and reduce wear and tear as compared to 10w. The second number in the oil grade specifies the viscosity at engine operating temperature. 30 will flow more easily under normal driving conditions. 5w30 is perfectly fine for all year round use in Pakistan.
U r partially right but.....And i dont know why this viscosity discussion arises again and again!!!Now this simple definition doesn't hold good and lower number also hold good for much higher temperatures. And there r N number of explanations for it and available online Many new cars and Japanese cars recommend much lower viscosity. I am using 5w 40 in my swift whereas 0w-20 in my Mira ES (which company recommends for it since 2017) and have no issues whether Karachi temperature is 10 degree or 42 degree. So leave this viscosity issue. Use the numbers allowed in ur car manual. Lower first numbers and higher second number (but again these numbers depend on ur manufacturer recommendation) would be expensive but ur car engine would be much more responsive and noiseless.
Sorry if you mind initiation of discussion. Please do recommend any idea or criterion to decide among each brand of lubricants particularly SGOs... Problem is manuals list more than one quality or viscosity and a understanding of temperatures is a confusion whether ambient or operating. And once got it changed to higher viscosity, looking for suggestions to shift back the oil grade and its methods with effects on engine. Thanks
Just buy the best 5w-40No problem in shifting back and forth unless ur engine is too old or have some other problem just buy any 5w40 or if u want to save money then 5w 30 if further money saving is desired then 10w30/40I personally buy 5w40 and use it for around 7-8 months. Although my running is very less but I have tested these fully synthetic oils. They easily last 7-8 months
I'm looking for a second hand Swift. How is the paint quality on these cars? Always see examples with faded clear coat.
What are the differences in models? I know there's a DX and DLX, but some DLX cars have a black grille and unpainted pillars.
What is the difference in equipment and options?
I had a 2012 swift earlier and now 2016 swift never had issue with paint fade.DLX is the upper variant and it has black pillars whereas DX has body colored pillars. DLX comes with chrome grill and DX with black mesh grill.Features that only DLX hasABS + EBD Alloy rimsFog lightsElectric side mirrorsBody colored door handles and side mirrorsChrome grillBetter audio unit Chrome inner handles
There are also some other minor interior differences
AOA.. every one Mein ney suzuki swift japan 2006 automatic le hai lakin fuel average 7.2 dea rahi hai .. mein kiya karon kuch samjh mein nai aa raha meri swift mein M13 A ka engine install hai .. or catalytic ka phter be nai hai us mein ... mein apni swift ke engine ku K12B ke sath replace karna chata hun .. ap logun ki or experts ki advice chaya ... gards nasir lodhi*
i have 2016 dlx swift which has been driven 100000 recently...its not as comfortable as before on speed breakers and on jerks with little noises from suspension probably...plus its 1st and 2nd gear gets stuck sometimes...showed it to various mechanics and dealership..they said its clutch plate needs to be replaced and suspension needs some work.bushes etc..should i get this done from any local mechanic or from dealership as dealership ll cost twice or thrice but i ll have a piece of mind...hows experience of people of mechanical work of car from local mechanics...i am afraid i shouldnt get into trouble afterwards getting it done from local mechanic...
dealerships are no better than a good local mechanic. in fact in some cases dealerships are worse and ripoffs too. you can easly get it done through a reputable outside mechanic, no need to get ripped off through dealership since your car is way above it's warranty too! (in my opinion)
I recently got my Swift's work done from outside, here's the price list just for quote estimation !
I also got my 2016 Swift's clutch plates replaced at 100k last year from a good workshop, total expense 10k. Satisfied with it.
Get your suspension overhauled (bushes replaced, ball joints replaced) and the front and rear shocks checked. A good mechanic can easily replace the clutch/pressure plates replaced in 3-4 hours. Always get the clutch bearing replaced as well. I got my cars clutch and pressure plates along with clutch bearings replaced in September 2019 after 110k kms. Purchased the clutch/pressure plates and bearing from Hannan motors in Badami bagh and got it replaced from my mechanic in gulberg near pepsi factory. You can buy genuine clutch/pressure plate set plus the bearing from Suzuki for about 18-19k. The OEM replacement of FCC cost me 9k for clutch/pressure plate and NTN clutch bearing.
better replace the car with one that comes with k12b
I am looking for suzuki swift Japanese 2011 new shape .. If any one have contact me .. Regard Nasir lodhi
Hi My swift is 28000 driven its a 2018 model currently using 10w40 SGO , can someone please recommend what’s the best oil I can use for this car and which brand. Also for performance which oil viscosity is the best 10w or 5w and is it safe to swift from 10w to 5w. Thanks
Every 5w-40 is best just forget all other questions and simply change to any good brand like zic, shell or caltex
