guys, if anybody has the Owner's manual of Swift, can you share pictures of it... not the online link, but actual pictures, especially for what is written for engine maintenance, oil grade to be used, gear oil, quantity etc. all the stuff ?
There is contradiction in engine oil. In owner's manual it is written 0w20 where as in maintenance manual (warranty card) 10w40 is mentioned. And Suzuki uses 10w40. So consider 10w40 as final however 5w40 can also be used without any issue ..but 0w20 is not recommended at all
Suzuki itself doesn't have 75W90 transmission oil. They only have with viscosity 90 i.e no blend i guess.
Go for any other 75w90 oil, get from market
thats why i switched to Liqui Moly gear oil. suzuki does not have multi-grade gear oil
Suzuki has 75w90 but there are availability issues, it's not available on all dealerships across pakSame 75w90 is being poured now in cultus manual and alto manual transmission
One of the dealership told me that Suzuki is managing 75w90 but only in 20L packing. So finally they have it
Guys .. today i took my car out for a while in Bahria phase 7 ..and i felt that there was a problem with the hand break ..drove it for a while but still felt that as if the car is still being dragged down .. and espically when reversing the car was jerking as if break was still on ..kaher i took to Phase 7 and i could smell some tyre rubber from left tyre..so one of the guy at the workshop at Pso phase 7 checked. and told me that the hand break cable is jammed and will need replacement .. he is asking 3500 for wire and 2 K for labor .. is it ok ?
What quality cables are u getting for 3500? I think you can get them for less. Never changed in my swift but I got both handbrake cables for my city for 1500 and labor was 600. Get your brake adjusters checked first, might be only those are jammed as u mentioned car feels like dragging.
he checked the breaks and says that the cables are jammed and he tried getting them back to original position but the cable was quite fixed ..he has made the cable completely free right now ..and the car is in the garage right now in gear ..Will get it back to workshop tommorow as i have to go to job in the morning ..so will try to get it to them in the morning as he says it will take 2 to 3 hours to replace them .. and asked the above mentioned prices .. what do you guys suggest .. have already paid 2 K advanced ..as i wanted to get out of there as no one there at the pump or the workshop was following any Sop and i was the only one there with a mask ..
2 to 3 hours for changing handbrake cables only???Lets wait for any expert's reply.
Yes, Kabuli cable costs 3500 to 4000 for a pair. Hardly it takes an hour to replace.
Whats status of your car after removing hand break cable? Now car move freely? If so. Then check your car with your own mechanic.
Generaly. Mechanic use break oil to remove any struck with in cable and use it again.
If cable is making trouble better to replace it with new one. One or more of the thread in cable are broken that's why it is stuck.
This happened with mine car accelerator cable. After changing gear RPM suddenly goes up as someone is keep pressing the peddle..
Replaced with genuine cable and problem solved.
Yes the price i am quoted for is kabali ..and yes it was checked and the cable has to be replaced .. I have my car from day 1 ..its late 2011 model dlx ..and now i think these kind of things are going to happen .. so yeah .. i think i should think about changing the brake pads and changing the bushes and tweek up the suspension also .. so that it remains in good condition .. Today in the morning i had another problem as the cable was free so i had to take it to the mechanics my self ..but when i started the car .. it didn't take self and i came to know that the battery has also started the problem as it is now 3 years old ..but duly maintained .. however every thing has a time period ..so yeah i think it needs time and care now ..
