How common is fuel pump going faulty on 2015 Swift? I have 2015 DLX with 62K KMs on it, and so far I have had the fuel pump fail TWICE - first at around 25K kms during a trip to the norther areas (that may be due to using open petrol from a vendor) and second just few days ago at 62K kms. From what I know fuel pumps do not require to be changed or don't go faulty for ages. For the record, I frequently use Hi-Octane mixed as well, but not sure why the fuel pump has failed this frequently. Any thoughts?

Fuel pump failure occur due to drive car under low petrol in tank.
Petrol also cool down fuel pump motor.

I have a 2018 done around 34k the fuel pump hasn’t gone bad, i mostly use normal fuel. Try sourcing an original pump from the dealership maybe if u didn’t last time.

i have clocked 168k on my 2013. it has yet to fail. i do not use hi-octane though.

I rarely keep petrol on the low side, so that can not be the reason for my situation..

fuel pumps are supposed to be inspected every 105k Kilometers as per the manual, and the fuel filter be replaced at that mileage as well. I think the mechanic has installed an aftermarket 2nd or 3rd grade fuel pump or you are getting substandard fuel from the petrol station that you use to fill up your car.

You can:

1. Get the relay checked for the fuel pump and the wiring as well.
2. Get the fuel pump checked from either a 3S or a mechanic
3. Replace your existing fuel pump and filter with a genuine one.
4. Most importantly get the fuel tank removed and cleaned thoroughly to clear out any impurities/debris in the tank.

Even if your car runs out of fuel once or twice, the pump can fail. Another reason can be blocked fuel or return lines.

I finally did get the tank cleaned and it was evident that the fuel was bad (used the same PSO station for a while, though it is a dealer owned not PSO owned station).

I am using 195/65/15 tyres, but i recommend to not use this size of tyres in swift because your car would loose the road grip as compare to stock tyres, however you would gain the road clearance.

For manual transmission fluid can anybody advice on how much is needed. I read on tye manual that it needs 2.2liters. I was considering ordering 2 liters of liquimoly. Should I order 3 liters to be on the safe side or 2 liters would work fine ?

I filled 2 liters and it was below the mark, so I had to open the 3rd bottle.
exact 2,2 was required to reach the mark.

I am a Swift Automatic user since June 2020. Drove 3000 Kms almost all on hi octane. First service already done. I am facing two problems. First now feeling some vibration while driving and secondly the ac has started producing a strange smell. Will be thankful if some could help.

Your ac filter is clogged. For smell removal. Use stp air conditioner odour remover.
Always switch off ac and run fan only for 5 min to dry ac evaporator before shuting car.
