hey all.... went to Hyderabad today from khi.... when I reached there the car was fine but after being parked for an hour the check engine light came on... drove it back from hyd to khi with the light on...
however there no missing or any other issue but the check light remained on.

Go to Suzuki Carachi Motors for diagnosis but try to bring ur own parts if required. I do the same. And driving with check light ON was not a good idea. And interestingly Suzuki uses some very different protocol that is not included in OBD II scanners.
One very important thing that before going to any 3s or other place. Get OBD II scanner from someone and install SZ viewer app on an android (not available on iOS) and try to reset all fault codes may be twice or thrice and may be while slowly moving the car(not driving on main road) and then see whether this check engine light clears and remains clear or not. I have myself experienced multiple times false warning lights like ABS and used the same procedure and it went off permanently.

thanks brother... unfortunately I had no choice but to drive it back as i stay in Karachi and had gone to Hyderabad for a visit. will go to showroom today and have it checked out.. Suzuki margalla and Suzuki Malir be open on Sunday.

I took the car to Suzuki Malir motors the check light was on.... it was parked for 20 min in the sun and when we started the check light was gone..
their scanning software is not picking up any data from the car.
so for now am taking the car back... am confused they are saying only two reasons for not picking up the data 1. card was previously changed 2. card has been tampered with.

Same thing happened to me.. my cousin took my car to ISB from Lahore, he told me check engine light came on after Kallar Kahar .. went to ISB, came back .. i parked the car that i'll get it checked in the morning... and in the morning the check light turned off and never came back again : ) no problem since then in the car ... been 5 months now!

Thats why i told u instead of going all the way to Suzuki 3S just reset check light yourself through SZ Viewer

I heard they get hard and start making noise after two years of use

i think every tyre gets hard after a certain period of time, but yes general tyres are harder for sure, but they handle the toothi phooti sarak and potholes very well and do not get damaged easily as per my experience.. we've been using only generals since year 2000s : )

yes... but I didn't have the obd scanner.... I did try before various scanner but they rarely work

They work only with SZ Viewer app and that too with very limited functionality like clear fault codes only

for now the issue has been magically resolved.... car is running smooth... just got back from Malir I am assuming I had over reved the car on way to Hyderabad maybe that could be the reason

I started the car today after 2 days and the check light came. on again... went from cantt to Clifton and the light remained on... came back to cantt and decided to go to saddar to my mechanic to have it checked but to my surprise the light went off again.. we tried scanning. but it did not detect on the scanner.. my mechanic said most probably the cars computer has been tampered with or is damaged. although there is no missing or any issues when the light comes on. the light just happens to come on randomly and then goes off

May be some wiring or sensor issue….either u need to keep scanner continuously attached with app monitoring on ur mobile or reach the 3s when it is on and do not switch off the car there

that is the issue... the computer is not detecting the ecu via suzuki propriety software; or my by other scanners as well.. and the light comes on randomly and goes off randomly. like today i took the car the work and the light reminded off after starting the car

Dont go elsewhere just go to Suzuki 3S particularly Carachi Motors

could be a wiring harness has loose grip or maybe a wire is about to break or something, just tell your mechanic to check wiring and harnesses carefully and fix them.

will do that the next time light comes on.... the car was purchased from suzuki exchange next to karachi motors last year

yes that may be the issue... have been using the car every day since the last incident and the check engine light is behaving normally. i did take it to my mechanic and he advised there is no point to check it unless the light comes on and if you feel any abnormality in the engine performance; so till that happens i will wait.

I hope u mean to say Carachi motors spelling is not Karachi. If thats the case then u should go to Carachi Motors and complain about the same to Owner’s son Hamza or Shoaib bhai about that

yes... I meant carachi motors... but the light is off for now.... will go when it comes on again
