Also need to know about Air Filter Part. What is this golden thing in it? encircled in the below pic. Is there any connection for it also as it has a pipe thing at the back.
that is the hot idle compensator
a pipe goes from it to the carburetor
it is a thermo valve. opens up and lets air in, when the filter casing gets hot. Otherwise stays closed to let the car start and idle easy when it is cold
