18kmpl in city driving is difficult to digest. even if you drive with a light foot and don't rev above 2500 rpms without aircon on, still your car will not give you more than 14-15kmpl. the average you are mentioning is possible with highway commute, not city commute.

sold my 2015 city juust 11k driven duue to parkng issue and purchased 2015 swift 21k driven.here is my experience..
City has better space,booot and fuel economical..
Suspension vise both r almost same.swift has better acceleration..

ALHUMDULILLAH...yes it's always on the dot...i repeat it's without AC...i always keep a log in my cars to check my cars efficiency regularly on every refill.
Mind you...i don't get this average on PSO shell or caltex....only ATTOCK petroleum...my commute is mostly on main roads... speed is usually between 70 to 110...depending how late I'm running or how big the emergency is.
I never refill petrol unless the yellow light is up...n I've driven atleast 10km on it.
My better half claimed the car was tuned for it by the previous owner.. .I got that checked...he said nothing like that
I've read n done my research on these City models....it seems 2013 n 2014 engines in manual cars have some "magic"
Otherwise I'm just really blessed...ALHUMDULILLAH as petrol was very very heavy on my pocket till I got my City 1.3
N another thing my brothers...this light foot theory...only works on automatic...not in manual.. .that's my experience...manual just doesn't know what "drifting" is if you don't keep pressure on the accelerator!!

B/w 70 and 110 18km/l is acceptable its almost highway speeds
I thought you meant city driving where speeds are max limited to 40,50

I don't know where you live...but if your in islamabad I was suggest H8 attock petrol pump...i never go anywhere else...bohot ziada masla ho tau I only get enuff filled to get to that petrol pump...its worth it.
Ive gifted my city to my better half and he just loves It!!

Honestly i dont know how much prius does in city.All I meant to say was that 18km/l was too good to be true .
The Attock near Gulberg with Honda Avenue thats the one.Filled 2 times from them got lesser quantity of fuel.

Ma'am a little misunderstanding is going on .
By city most of us mean that speeds are almost below 50,60 and there is Stop and Go situation alot (Traffic signals,uturns etc)
Otherwise if driven interruptedly a car should always give better mielage.

Even with signals n traffic...its better then most cities!!
If you use the expressway...i wud suggest a little detour to H8 ATTOCK petroleum ...n tell me the average...with prosmetic I think it shud still give you 16

I also had a.great experience on that pump some days ago...
I travelled to Lahore with my czn and his civic reborn gave an average of 14.5 km/L surprisingly
He also said that his reborn never gives more than 12-13 on Highway but that day he was surprised even the speed kept was between 140-150 but we thought that we made some sort of wrong calculation but from you I heard it again and so collecting all the things..

Kept Swift for 3 years 2012-2015 and now its been 2 years I am driving city manual.
I must say City has better build quality,drive and handling.

Swift is also reliable car but city takes the lead in almost ever aspect

Swift initial acceleration is very good but city has more top speed.

with 2-2.5 lacs difference u r getting better deal because city resale is absolutely cash depost

Two different car classes and price brackets, no comparison really.

If you can afford a City then that should be your obvious choice.

For sure city....
City has better power, almost equal acceleration with better top speed, better fuel economy, better built quality, better handling better suspension, more goodies and a cash deposit when it comes to resale...
On the other hand swift has good power and acceleration but in terms of power a bit short to city and acceleration pretty much same but jot fuel efficient like city and not that pleasureful drive.. .

Yes it has high octane..faiz ahmed faiz road attock pump...but my experience in Stingray of HOBC..was not good...so I'm not sure...but regular petrol is A1

That's an impressive average but I guess it's mostly on main roads as you mentioned, and not with stop and go traffic. Not taking away the credit from you or your car but I bet that your magical city wouldn't have given more than 14-15 if it was in Lahore (khair 14-15 is not bad either). Lekin phir bhi, 18 plus is seriously impressive if you get that regularly.
My 1.8 CVT Altis gave me 12.6 km/l with ac, inside Lahore, with stop and go traffic. Previously it used to give me 11.5 but I read some tips related to Pulse and Glide on the internet and now it is giving me 12.5-12.6 with 100% ac.

Yes...lahore traffic...crazy...thats a good average for a 1.8....bigger engine...more consumption...automatic also consumes more then manual...but yes gliding techniques work well with auto!!!

Here's my theory: Fuel economy will be your friend if you are patient but if you happen to be a typical Paki who moves even if there is an inch space in front then I feel sorry for your pocket.
