The problem with Vitara as I see it:
Even if you forget the Suzuki badge which is there because of Pak Suzuki still supplying obsolete low end vehicles as well, even if you forget all that the real issue is:
They have a pathetic record of after sales back up. As soon as they put a model out of production they disown it. Be it the Previous Vitara, Liana or Baleno. Now keeping that in mind the big question mark with this new Vitara is: what if PakSuzuki decides one year later to discontinue it and Pakistani roads till then have the Vitara as a limited vehicle which only came for one year and due to discontinuing it they have now also stopped regular availability of their parts at reasonable price, then what. Thats the bad mark they have created on themselves by making parts insanely expensive for discontinued models and that too with an already weak mechanics and engineers network on their 3S services, then what?
So first they need to gain trust of the consumers by getting themselves right in this regard which only time will prove.
This stupid aftersales ownership for their cars demanded them to keep a low price and give an incentive in the form of price to first sell a massive number and stand up to the aftersales ownership. Then they should have asked for a good price after proving their worth.
Let's be honest and if I am touching the 4 million bracket I will stretch some more and get a BMW X1 (for 39.9 which after adding the Utility package including leather and Steptronic transmission ends up) at 45. I will be happily letting go of a Panoramic roof and many many other things in the X1 as compared to the offerings of Vitara. Its a BMW as opposed to Suzuki at the end of the day.
Still all said and done the Vitara is a seriously good entry to the market. But Suzuki has again outdone themselves with the pricing strategy with such a background. Nonetheless if I have to get an HRV (LETS NOT BRING VEZEL TO THE EQUATION) I would rather prefer Vitara top variant even at 38 over HRV. But after I touch 38 then some more additions and much better options come into hand like BMW X1
